Juan Soto to Hit a Home Run (+265, FanDuel)
Soto hasn’t hit a home run either of the last two days, which is essentially a slump by his definition. Since July 4th, Soto has 7 home runs in only 20 games. He’s been elevating the ball extremely well against RHP during that stretch and has the highest fly-ball % against RHP of any Yankees hitter since June 15th. Aaron Nola has been allowing a high barrel % in recent weeks and has struggled across the platoon all season – 4.40 FIP, 21.6% K%, 40.1% fly-ball rate. Soto is always a high-risk walk candidate but less so against Nola, who pounds the strike zone. This is a great spot for Soto, even at the short number.
Dylan Moore to Hit a Home Run (+450, FanDuel)
Moore isn’t a household name, but he hits a lot of fly balls. Since June 1st, his 55.6% fly-ball rate against LHP is 2nd on the Mariners, trailing only Cal Raleigh. Moore is a hitter who swings and misses a lot, but that vulnerability could be less exposed against James Paxton, who owns a pedestrian 16.7% strikeout rate and dreadful 69 Stuff+ across the last 30 days. It’s hot in Boston, and the wind is blowing out toward left field. If Moore can get the ball in the air, he has a chance.
Corey Seager to Hit a Home Run (+330, FanDuel)
It doesn’t take rocket science to come to the conclusion that Seager has a good chance to leave the yard on any given night. That being said, he’s particularly well positioned to do damage in this evening’s contest against Lance Lynn. Seager has demolished RHP in 2024 to the tune of a .913 OPS. His 45.3% fly-ball rate and excellent bat-to-ball skills should give him multiple opportunities to get the ball in the air in very hitter-friendly weather in St. Louis. A pitcher-friendly home plate umpire is a concern, but Lynn owns an astonishingly bad 19.4 barrel % allowed and 81 Stuff+ during the last 30 days. Seager should have some quality at-bats, at a minimum.
