Week 14 culminates with an NFC East matchup on Monday Night Football. Eli Manning will be dusted off to lead the Giants into Philly to meet the playoff-hopeful Eagles. Nobody wants to take control of the division with the Cowboys losing again on Thursday night. Will the Eagles take advantage of the Dallas loss?

Injury Report and Analysis

The big injury news rests on the Giants’ side of the football with Daniel Jones sidelined due to injury on Monday night. The ghost of Eli Manning will make an appearance before Christmas — hoping to ignite the flames of the Giants’ offense in a division matchup.

The Eagles will likely be without Jordan Howard — tabbing Miles Sanders as an intriguing daily fantasy option for your DraftKings Showdown lineups. Nelson Agholor is a game-time decision. If Agholor misses, J.J. Arcega-Whiteside and Dallas Goedert should see a slight boost in opportunities.

The Eagles need a win after the Cowboys failed to beat the Bears on Thursday night. A win places the Eagles in a tie atop — barely — a division so weak that the winner is guaranteed the fourth seed in the NFC playoffs. The Eagles are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games after a brutal loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 13.

The Giants are equally bad going 2-6 ATS in their last eight games. The Giants are the fourth-worst scoring defense in the NFL — allowing a pitiful 28.2 points per game. The Eagles have not been very efficient on offense but should see a boost to their 22 points per game average. The return of Alshon Jeffery has been a boon to an offense that already improved efficiency in the red zone in 2019. The Eagles finished with a 59% touchdown rate last season and have their average up above 63% this year.

Like the Giants, the Eagles are pretty friendly on the defensive side of the football. Philadelphia allows 23.7 points per game to opposing offenses. Will Eli Manning be able to capitalize after a long hiatus? Points could be plentiful.

The Monday Night Football Pick

The Eagles inconsistency gives me pause with an 8.5-point spread — regardless of who is taking snaps for the Giants. Monday Night would not be the first time Philadelphia disappointed as massive favorites this season. Instead, I prefer to capitalize on two defenses that tend to give up points — especially through the air. The weather may not be ideal so certainly check the report before the game. That said, I am inclined to attack the over in this game.

The Pick: Over 44.5
