Core Plays LIVE: NBA DFS Picks for Thursday, November 7th
A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career and has long been one of the top NBA DFS minds in the industry. On weekends, Taylor Smith takes the reins. Their Core Plays LIVE article will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, Core Plays LIVE has everything you need for your DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.
Happy Thursday!
Is it me, or has this week flown by? It feels more like a Tuesday than a Thursday. We are inching closer and closer to the weekend. I had one of my best slates of the season last night. The core plays crushed, and I made the correct decision between Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic. The pace-up spot for the Mavericks was appealing, but targeting Jokic at home in a game without Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon was too good to pass up.
We now turn our attention to tonight’s 3-game slate. The Bulls and Spurs are playing on the second half of a back-to-back, while the Wolves, Bucks, and Blazers are playing on the front end of a back-to-back. The Jazz are the only team on the schedule not in a back-to-back setting. For NFL fans out there (the percentage of NBA DFS players who are also NFL fans has to be in the 95%+ range), here’s my breakdown for tonight’s Bengals vs. Ravens game.

Team Previews
Minnesota Timberwolves (at CHI)
We kick off the slate with the Wolves, who don’t have a single player on the injury report. They travel to Chicago to take on the Bulls, who are 1st in pace and 24th in points allowed per game. This is a tremendous spot for the Wolves, so it’s no surprise that their team total is 6.1 points higher than their season average. Mike Conley has been decent on a per-minute basis but has only averaged 23.7 minutes per game. He’s cheap enough to warrant consideration, but I’m not sure what his ceiling is at this stage of his career. At a similar price, Donte DiVincenzo offers more upside off the bench.
Anthony Edwards (1.14 DK / 1.07 FD) has underwhelmed to start the season despite a 30% usage rate. He has shot the ball fairly well but hasn’t offered much when it comes to peripheral stat production. Much like Conley, Jaden McDaniels is best suited as a cash game target than a tournament target. Julius Randle has topped 40 fantasy points in 4 of his last 6 games, and he has done it without recording a single double-digit rebounding game this season. Rudy Gobert projects well, he’s affordable, and he fits all types of builds on this slate. He has also been dominant when facing Nikola Vucevic in his career. He has scored 40, 39, 55, 53, 52, 41, and 42 fantasy points in his last seven games against Vucey. On a short slate like this, Naz Reid and Nickeil Alexander-Walker are strong tournament plays.
