Toronto

Sacramento Defense
Points Allowed Per Game: 108.6 (28 of 30)
Defensive Efficiency: 105.0 (23 of 30)
Rebounding Differential: 0.1 (14 of 30)
Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game: 209.8 (25 of 30)

This should be one of the higher scoring games on the slate today, and be a big pace up game for the Raptors. The Kings play at one of the faster paces in the league at 103.6 and as small favorites in this matchup, the Raptors look to be fine plays.

Kyle Lowry’s price has slowly increased from the start of the season when he was way underpriced. He has been in the 40+ fantasy realm in each of his last three games and should hit that mark against Rondo and the Kings tonight. He will likely be low owned and is a tough play with such high upside point guards going today. The other Raptor that is in play is DeMar DeRozan. He has played great so far this year and has an elite matchup against the Kings and their porous shooting guard defense.

Toronto Defense
Points Allowed Per Game: 97.8 (8 of 30)
Defensive Efficiency: 99.5 (11 of 30)
Rebounding Differential: 7.0 (2 of 30)
Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game: 193.6 (9 of 30)

This is not the greatest matchup for the Kings. The Raptors are ranked in the top ten in points allowed, fantasy points allowed and rebounding differential. Yet, Vegas does think this should be very high scoring as the overall total is set at 207.

The main concern today should be the status of Darren Collison. If he is out again, Rajon Rondo is in store for another huge fantasy day. He has played 44, 48 and 48 minutes in his last three games with Collison out. If that is the case again, he should be looked at as a top option to pair with Westbrook at the point guard position. The other King player is clearly DeMarcus Cousins. This guy is on a mission at the moment and has as high of an upside as anyone going in the NBA.

Defensive Efficiency: 108.8 (29 of 30)
Rebounding Differential: -7.4 (30 of 30)
Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game: 214.7 (26 of 30)

The last game on the slate features one of the more interesting matchups of the day. It is pitting one of the best defensive teams and slowest paced teams against one of the worst defensive teams. The Lakers are the latter as they are in the bottom third of the league in the four categories above. This Detroit team gets a huge pace up matchup tonight against the Lakers and have a projected team total of 102.

Andre Drummond is an elite play against the Lakers and their 26th ranked defense against the center position. He has stayed out of foul trouble and should be looking at another 20-20 game tonight. To go along with Drummond, Marcus Morris is in a great position to exceed value at a small forward position that lacks options on this slate. Lastly, Reggie Jackson is a decent play, but is the opposite of Morris as the point guard position is filled with heavy hitters today.

Andre Drummond

L.A. Lakers

Detroit Defense
Points Allowed Per Game: 96.1 (6 of 30)
Defensive Efficiency: 96.7 (8 of 30)
Rebounding Differential: 7.2 (2 of 30)
Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game: 187.8 (6 of 30)

The Lakers are on the other end of this matchup as they will have to face one of the better defensive teams in the league in a big pace down matchup. They have a 98 projected team total for this game.

Due to the matchup, targeting the Lakers does not appear to be the most effective strategy on this slate. If you want to take a flyer on Julius Randle, that is an option, but probably not the best.
