NBA Player Props Today – Thursday, October 24, 2024
- Jamal Murray Over/Under 30.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
- Jalen Williams Over/Under 18.5 Points
- Al Horford Over/Under 2.5 Assists
Jamal Murray UNDER 30.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-120, DraftKings)
Jamal Murray had a strong 25-point showing in his preseason finale, but the rest of his tune-up games left a lot to be desired. In his previous 3 preseason contests, Murray combined to shoot 6-for-19 from the field, including only 2-for-10 from deep. Perhaps most notable throughout the entire preseason was Murray’s lack of contributions on the glass and as a facilitator. Murray has never been someone who has been a triple-double threat on a nightly basis, but it was still surprising to see him log only 5 rebounds and 10 assists across 82 minutes this preseason. Oklahoma City has one of the better perimeter defenses in the NBA, so this is likely to be a tough number for Murray to clear unless he has a strong night scoring the basketball – a tall task against Alex Caruso, Lu Dort, Chet Holmgren and the rest of the Thunder.
Jalen Williams OVER 18.5 Points (-110, DraftKings)
Jalen Williams increased his scoring to 19.1 points per game as a sophomore and shows few signs of slowing down heading into his third year in the NBA. Williams’ game translated to the postseason, averaging 18.7 points per game on 46.9% shooting. This preseason, he scored 58 points in only 66 minutes of action. Williams has a legitimate opportunity to establish himself as a household name this upcoming season with Oklahoma City. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him average more than 20 points per game, giving bettors great opening night value on this line.
Al Horford OVER 2.5 Assists (+105, DraftKings)
Al Horford had 5 assists on 5 potential assists on opening night for the Celtics, continuing a strong trend of operating as a facilitator when Kristaps Porzingis is out of the lineup. Dating back to last season, Horford has dished 3+ assists in 65% of games in which Porzingis has been inactive, including 63% of road contests. Horford isn’t likely to continue converting 100% of his potential assists to actual assists, but this is great value at plus money against what should be a very beatable Washington defense.
