NFL Betting Picks: Best Player Props for Week 3

chris-godwin-800x480

After a props beatdown in Week 2 — except for Sunday night — I am ready to atone for my woes and come back strong in Week 3. All of my props missed and the 0-3 weekend places me at 1-5 for the season. Needless to say, there is certainly work to do. Looking through the major online sports betting sites, I am going to pick one quarterback, running back, and receiver prop for Sunday.

Here are some NFL betting tips along with the three props for NFL Week 3.

NFL Betting Picks Week 3 — QB Player Prop for Bengals at Bills

Andy Dalton Over/Under 240.5 Passing Yards (use our DraftKings promo code to get these odds)

Albeit better than expected in 2019, Andy Dalton and the Bengals travel to Buffalo to play one of the better pass defenses in the NFL. The Bengals put together a strong performance on the road in Seattle in Week 1 — nearly edging the home Seahawks behind 418 Andy Dalton passing yards. The 418 yards were the most in Dalton’s career. The Bengals were then obliterated at home by the 49ers — a game that saw Dalton attain 311 passing yards while the Bengals were in pursuit.

In Buffalo, the Bills (-6) are expected to handle the Bengals behind a stout defense and a relatively effective offense. The Bills pass defense ranked first in passing yards allowed last season — only surrendering 3081 passing yards (192.5 yards per game). Last week, the Bills defense allowed 250 passing yards to Eli Manning. The Giants were trailing for nearly the entire game, though, and Eli completed a mere 26 out of 45 passing attempts. In Week 1, the Bills completely stifled the Jets as the pre-mono Sam Darnold only amassed 175 passing yards at home.

With respect to Dalton’s gaudy numbers, John Ross III has amassed an abundance of receiving yards in three huge chunk plays. Last week, Ross brought in a 66-yard touchdown and in Week 1 Ross caught a 33-yard touchdown and 55-yard touchdown. The long bomb well will run dry eventually and Buffalo certainly seems like the appropriate place for the big plays to dry up. On the road and in a very difficult matchup, give me the under.

My Pick: Under 240.5 Passing Yards

NFL Betting Picks Week 3 — RB Player Prop for Ravens at Chiefs

Mark Ingram Over/Under 60.5 Rushing Yards (use our DraftKings promo code to get these odds)

The Chiefs versus Ravens tilt looks to be the focal point of many NFL fans as two exciting young quarterbacks meet in the loftiest implied total of the week. As 5.5-point favorites, the Chiefs are home favorites in what could be a shootout. The early exploits of Lamar Jackson indicate that the Ravens might have the firepower to keep up with the high-paced Chiefs. This one should be a doozy.

With all of the excitement building and the likely piling up of offensive statistics, one area that leaves me skeptical is the running back position for the Ravens. Mark Ingram seems to be the lead back for the Ravens offense — if we exclude Lamar Jackson. That said, in a high-paced affair last week against the Cardinals, the Ravens’ back only mustered 47 rushing yards on 13 attempts. In Week 1, Ingram compiled 107 rushing yards as the Ravens aimed to wind the clock out in the second half of a 59-10 blowout of the Dolphins. In only a small sample, Ingram seems to be primed for a big role when the game script favors the Ravens. This week, the Ravens will need to make use of the talents of their dual-threat quarterback to keep pace with the Chiefs.

In a 52-point implied total, the game script likely dictates the Ravens passing game being called upon throughout this game. Give me the under on Ingram’s rushing total.

My Pick: Under 60.5 Rushing Yards

NFL Betting Picks Week 2 — WR Player Prop for Giants at Buccaneers

Chris Godwin Over/Under 77.5 Receiving Yards (use our FanDuel Sportsbook promo code to get these odds)

After grabbing two unders, I am looking at an over for my wide receiver play. With the departure of DeSean Jackson and Adam Humphries, Chris Godwin is being treated like the talent that the DFS community has been enamored with for a couple of years. Godwin is off to a good start for the Bucs in 2019 — putting together a massive 121- yard receiving game in a road victory over the Panthers in Week 2. The Buccaneers will see a prime matchup on Sunday — at home versus the Giants.

The Giants defense showcased their ability to allow two top receivers to eviscerate them in their opening loss to the Cowboys. Michael Gallup compiled 158 yards on seven catches while teammate Amari Cooper brought in six catches for 106 yards. Did I mention Randall Cobb added 69 receiving yards? The Giants defense will be a whipping post for opposing pass game throughout the season.

Head coach Bruce Arians will be very content to exploit the Giants’ weaknesses with his array of pass catchers. Godwin seems primed for the “”(player-popup #larry-fitzgerald)Larry Fitzgerald”:/players/larry-fitzgerald-12162 role”:https://www.rotoworld.com/football/nfl/player/12160/chris-godwin/news for the Buccaneers this season and should eat out of the slot against the Giants on Sunday. Cole Beasley amassed 83 receiving yards for the Bills last week — an offense not built to be as explosive as Tampa Bay.

Make sure to get this play on FanDuel Sportsbook. At the time of this writing, the line is 77.5 receiving yards at -102. On DraftKings, the line is 78.5 yards at -115. Shop around for the best prices all weekend. I will take the over on Godwin at FanDuel.

My Pick: Over 77.5 Receiving Yards
