What is your favorite correlation and why?
Notorious: DAL/NYJ game stack – The Cowboys have allowed 33 points per game this season, which is the 2nd-worst mark in the league. They are dead last in EPA allowed per dropback, dead last in fantasy points allowed to quarerbacks & wide receivers, and 31st in PFF’s grades against the run. You can play Justin Fields, Breece Hall, and Garrett Wilson as a very cheap trio in hopes of capturing all of the offensive touchdowns for the Jets. On the flip side, Dallas has a concentrated target tree with CeeDee Lamb out. You can bring back the Jets stack with George Pickens and/or Jake Ferguson. You can also look to Javonte Williams, who continues to outperform expectations.
stevietpfl: Justin Fields + Garrett Wilson + Jake Ferguson – This is my favorite game on the slate, and I will be stacking it multiple different ways. With that said, this is my favorite way to attack it. Ferguson is a perfect pivot off of Tyler Warren, or you could play both to be different. Ferguson has 29 targets over the last 3 games and leads the team with a 22.8% target share. Wilson has a 46.9% air-yards share and has the 2nd-highest target percentage in the NFL this season. The Dallas defense has been awful this season. They’ve allowed 309.3 passing yards per game, which is the most in the NFL. It’s 26.5 yards higher than the next team.
Krayton: Justin Fields + Garrett Wilson + Breece Hall – This game is my favorite by quite a bit, with Fields getting an elite matchup against the Cowboys, who have been absolutely destroyed by QBs the last few games. Even though Fields has his fair share of turnovers, his rushing upside is elite, as he has 3 rushing TDs on the season along with 178 rushing yards. Wilson has seen between 8-13 targets in each game to start the season, and I also don’t mind playing both Wilson and Hall together, especially with Braelon Allen out. On the Cowboys side, I will be looking at Jake Ferguson and George Pickens, as the targets have become more concentrated with CeeDee Lamb out. This game has tremendous fantasy upside, and I am looking to overly stack it.
ebeimfohr: Justin Fields + Garrett Wilson – Absolutely every box gets checked for this stack in Week 5. They are underpriced for their projections, and they have upside in just about any matchup, but they are in an elite one this week. I’ve been calling the Cowboys the “Coors Field” of NFL DFS because they have the worst defense in the league paired with a high-powered offense that pushes the opposing team to score (while making it quite easy to do so against their defense). Fields offers elite rushing upside, with 178 rushing yards and 3 TDs in just 3 games, and the Cowboys’ pass defense is last in the league in EPA/play allowed. Wilson is also a total alpha WR that’s rare in the league. He has the highest target share in the league (36.5%), and he’s 5th in air-yards share (46%). And despite all of these perks, they don’t project to be overwhelming chalk.
ncorfield8k: Justin Herbert + Ladd McConkey + Keenan Allen – I also like stacks with Quentin Johnston, but I think this double stack will be particularly contrarian, and it has huge upside. The Commanders have given up the 6th-most schedule-adjusted fantasy points per game to slot receivers. Both McConkey (62.8% slot rate) and Allen (47.4%) should benefit. And with Jayden Daniels back, this should be a competitive game. I expect the Chargers to lean on Herbert and the passing game.
Davis Mattek: Jared Goff + Amon-Ra St. Brown + at least 1 of Sam LaPorta, Jahmyr Gibbs, Jameson Williams, and David Montgomery – My goal this week is to find the perfect Lions stack against the Bengals. No team is more aggressive with a 2-score lead than the Lions, and the Bengals have given up in the 2nd half of 2 consecutive games. If the Bengals players are not trying, the Lions will be happy to put up a 50-burger, and that is what I expect to happen.
Jordan Vanek: Bryce Young + Tetairoa McMillan + De’Von Achane – The Dolphins have given up over 6 yards per play this season, making them by far the weakest defense the Panthers have faced. They’ve struggled badly on 3rd downs, which should allow Carolina to move the ball more effectively than expected. Getting close to a bare-minimum QB price tag against a defense this bad is rare, and with almost no ownership interest, it’s a spot worth attacking. McMillan has seen 8+ targets in every game this season, and the Dolphins haven’t been able to stop anyone through the air. On the flip side, Carolina’s linebackers have been the worst in the NFL, setting up Achane for multiple explosive runs.
Who’s your favorite contrarian play (below 10% pOWN%) and why?

About the Author

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
