Best NFL Week 14 Player Props at Online Sportsbooks

Break out the brooms! After a wildly disappointing Week 13, we pulled off a big sweep in Week 14 to make up some lost ground. The broom required a bit of sweat as Jonathan Taylor and D.K. Metcalf needed strong fourth quarters to come through. Enough of the celebration! Back to the business at hand. Here are my favorite Week 14 props as we endeavor for consecutive sweeps.

NFL Week 14 Player Props — QB Pick

Deshaun Watson Over/Under 283.5 Passing Yards

Will Fuller on suspension? Keke Coutee and Brandin Cooks banged up? Hey, at least Deshaun Watson will lead the Texans’ offense in a warm, climate-controlled dome on Sunday. Checks notes. Wait, the game is in Chicago. Cold and windy Chicago?

Watson is coming off of three robust passing weeks after the firing of B.O.B. seemed to reinvigorate the Texans’ offense. Unfortunately, all of those robust passing efforts came in the confines of a dome — two at home and one in Detroit on Thanksgiving. The opposing defenses over those weeks were relatively friendly to opposing passers. The Bears? Not as much.

While the Bears are not atop the defensive totem pole in the current NFL landscape, Chicago is not a complete pushover. Allowing 6.8 yards per pass attempt, the Bears will make it tough on Watson and company. Bettors can expect plenty of commentary about the Bears drafting Mitchell Trubisky instead of Watson. Bettors should not expect a correlated high volume of passing yards from Watson.

While the implied game total has moved up throughout the week, I don’t expect Watson to continue his recent passing surge outdoors. I am going to grab the under at BegMGM and hope for a sloppy, windy, cold Chicago affair.

My Pick: Under 283.5 Passing Yards -110 at BetMGM

NFL Week 14 Player Props — RB Pick

Myles Gaskin Over/Under 54.5 Rushing Yards

Upon his return against the Bengals, Myles Gaskin immediately reclaimed his role as the top back in Miami. Taking 21 carries for north of 90 yards, Gaskin’s only mistake was a fumble in the fourth quarter. That said, Gaskin only saw Patrick Laird carry the ball three times. The Miami backfield is Gaskin’s as long as the Dolphins continue their run to the playoffs.

A tough matchup awaits on Sunday, though, with the Kansas City Chiefs coming to town. If the Dolphins are a viable playoff team, they must keep pace with the team favored to win the Super Bowl. That said, the Chiefs’ defense continues to be gashed by opposing ground games — allowing 131 yards to Melvin Gordon in Week 13 on 15 carries. Allowing a robust 4.8 yards per carry, the Chiefs’ defense can be exploited on the ground with the bonus of keeping Patrick Mahomes on the sidelines.

Gaskin is going to be a wildly popular DFS play on Sunday. If you don’t fancy daily fantasy, get your exposure by smashing this prop. I don’t want to make this a gimmick… wait, yes I do. Gaskin’s rushing over is getting the biggest of hammers.

For my Mjolnir this week, I choose Myles Gaskin. Over.

My Pick: Over 54.5 Rushing Yards -112 at DraftKings

NFL Week 14 Player Props — WR Pick

D.K. Metcalf Over/Under 75.5 Receiving Yards

I am interested in D.K. Metcalf against New York at home. No, this is not a copy-paste job… sort of… Metcalf exceeded his yardage prop last week against the Giants and will stay home to face a weaker Jets’ defense. The Jets are equally strong a rushing defense as the Giants, if not better, but are dreadful against the pass. After the firing of Gregg Williams, nobody knows how the defense will respond. Will the Jets play up against Seattle? Will morale be low facing ex-teammate Jamal Adams?

Let’s be honest. Does it matter? D.K. Metcalf is a walking highlight reel. Leading the NFL in receiving, Metcalf already feels like one of the top receivers in the league — in his second year. Ranking third in yards per catch (17.8), Metcalf’s athleticism and size will overmatch the Jets secondary. I won’t be surprised to see a long catch and run early in the game.

At the time of this writing, Metcalf’s yardage prop is five yards lower on FanDuel than any other online betting site. I will take the over before this number approaches that of rival sites.

My Pick: Over 75.5 Receiving Yards -110 at FanDuel.
