Best NFL Week 2 Player Props at U.S. Sportsbooks

The 2020 NFL props season opened up in strong fashion — going 2 for 3 after Kirk Cousins just tripped over his passing yardage prop. The NFL boasts favorable spots for the offense on Sunday. Here are my best NFL player props for Week 2 at online sportsbooks.
Make sure to check out our Weekend Betting Guide and some NFL betting tips before diving into all of the online sportsbooks. Let’s get started.
NFL Week 2 Player Props — QB Pick for Falcons at Cowboys
Dak Prescott Over/Under 296.5 Passing Yards (use our FanDuel to get these odds)
The Dallas offense looked crisp and polished in the first half of their opener against the Los Angeles Rams. Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott led the Cowboys to two first-half touchdown drives and looked pretty good doing it. In the second half, though, the Cowboys fell out of rhythm and gave up a small lead to the home Rams.
In Week 2, the Cowboys welcome a much more favorable opposing defense in the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcon defense allowed an absurdly efficient passing performance from Russell Wilson and company in Week 1 — 31 of 35 in passing for 322 yards and 4 touchdowns. Russ and his receivers had whatever they wanted with the Atlanta defensive backs playing the part of turnstiles throughout the game. Isaiah Oliver allowed 7 of 9 targets to be converted for 93 yards while rookie AJ Terrell was roasted for 5 of 5 targets and 70 yards. The young defensive backfield should open up plenty of opportunities for an explosive Dallas receiving corps.
With a massive total of 53.5 points, this game is expected to shoot out in Dallas. If the Falcons are able to hang around with Dak and his receivers, Prescott should be afforded enough passing volume to eclipse his passing yardage prop against an exploitable defense. I will take the over in Dallas.
My Pick: Over 296.5 Passing Yards -110
NFL Week 2 Player Props — RB Pick for Chiefs at Chargers
Austin Ekeler Over/Under 57.5 Rushing Yards (use our DraftKings promo code to get these odds)
Our next prop feels a bit scary but the price presents a good opportunity for the public. Austin Ekeler put together a complete dud for DFS buyers in Week 1 — rushing for 84 yards but only tallying 1 catch while rookie Joshua Kelly scored a touchdown on four redzone attempts. Ekeler’s claim to fame is a voluminous role in the Chargers’ passing game. The exodus of Melvin Gordon came with visions of Ekeler having a three-down role for the Chargers and finishing the season as a top-tier fantasy running back.
The public will overreact, generally, but more so when the lens is zoomed to a one-week sample. While Ekeler’s target-share was disappointing, his role on the ground represented that of a top-tier running back. Ekeler’s 19 rushing attempts will serve well this week against a Chiefs’ defense that ceded 4.9 yards per rushing attempt in 2019. David Johnson — in his Houston debut — rushed for 77 yards on 11 attempts. Playing at home, the Chargers will likely leverage the rushing game to keep the explosive Kansas City offense on the sideline.
DraftKings Sportsbook is pricing this yardage prop as if Ekeler did not rush for 84 yards in Week 1. Given the likely offensive gameplan and the Chiefs’ defensive inefficiency, this rushing prop feels too good to be true. I will happily take the over.
My Pick: Over 57.5 Rushing Yards +120
NFL Week 2 Player Props — WR Pick for Washington at Cardinals
DeAndre Hopkins Over/Under 5.5 Receptions (DraftKings)
While price sensitivity is important, I cannot help myself with this receptions prop on DraftKings. DeAndre Hopkins answered questions about his role in Arizona after being the alpha for the Houston Texans for many years. Hopkins saw 16 Kyler Murray targets and converted 14 for 151 yards. Did I mention that the Cardinals’ Week 1 opponent was the vaunted San Francisco defense? Hopkins appears to be poised for a great season in his new digs.
Last season, the Washington Football Team allowed a miserable 68.7% completion rate and 7.1 passing yards per attempt to opposing quarterbacks. The home Cardinals will feature Hopkins prominently against a weaker defense throughout the game as Washington showed that no lead is safe in Week 1. Hopkins will not garner as hefty a workload in Week 2 but the GridironIQ tool at RotoGrinders projects more than 11 targets for DeAndre Hopkins.
The price? Not great. I will keep shopping around on Saturday as more props are posted across online betting sites. That said, I am very content to take this over if nothing else emerges.
My Pick: Over 5.5 Receptions -124
