NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Tuesday, February 3

Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?

TastefulTides: Connor McDavid
boggslite: Connor McDavid
Joda: Connor McDavid

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

TastefulTides: Single-entry and 3-max GPPs are my preferred format. The Devils, from a points-per-dollar perspective, are the clear team to target. They are simply too cheap, and I plan on playing at least 3 in all of my primary lineups. After that, I will look to get contrarian. I think SEA1 is a super interesting team to pair with chalk New Jersey. They should come in low-owned and have a really solid matchup against the Ducks.

boggslite: Large-field tournaments – Many teams are limping into the Olympic break banged up, which has opened up plenty of opportunities for some cheaper skaters on tonight’s slate. Targeting these value plays will allow you to load up the rest of your lineup with studs, making a stars-and-scrubs type build a priority for me. Edmonton and Tampa are my top targets, followed by Carolina and Philadelphia.

Joda: Large-field GPPs are my preferred format. The price tags on New Jersey stand out against the Blue Jackets’ poor penalty kill. Timo Meier, Nico Hischier, and a red-hot Dougie Hamilton are simply underpriced. Even “Downtown” Connor Brown is $3,000 with a PP1 role. He logged 22 minutes for Sheldon Keefe in the last game. In lineups without New Jersey, I would look to Elvis Merzlikins for leverage, as only the Maple Leafs have allowed more shots on goal than Columbus, and in the event the affordable players on the Devils fail, Elvis can knock out a good portion of the field.
