On the heels of Tuesday’s dreary 2-gamer, we’re back with what should be a fun Game 2 between the Pacers and Knicks on Wednesday night. New York staged an impressive 4th-quarter comeback to claim Game 1, and they’re listed as 5-point home favorites in tonight’s rematch at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks were dealt a blow when they announced Mitchell Robinson will miss the rest of the season as a result of a stress injury in his ankle. The Pacers, however, have Tyrese Haliburton listed as questionable for tonight’s game with a bad back. Haliburton looked like a shell of himself in Game 1, so it sounds like a real injury.

Let’s head over to PrizePicks and pick some winners for Game 2, shall we?

NBA PrizePicks Predictions Today

OG Anunoby More/Less Than 8.5 Rebounds + Assists

The Knicks swung for the fences when they shipped Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett to Toronto earlier in the season in exchange for OG Anunoby. It’s early, but it’s safe to say both teams are happy with the deal thus far. Anunoby has been a transformative presence for the Knicks defensively, and he’s a quintessential fit for Tom Thibodeau in particular.

OG is a winning player, but he’s not exactly a stat stuffer. Despite averaging nearly 35 minutes per game since coming to New York, Anunoby averaged just 4.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. He has upped his rebounding in the playoffs, however, as he’s pulling down 7.1 caroms through New York’s first 7 postseason games. We can likely attribute that to the minutes, as he’s averaging nearly 7 more minutes per game in the playoffs than he did during the regular year.

Anunoby has pulled down at least 9 rebounds in 3 of his last 4 games, including a 14-board effort in Game 5 vs. Philly. This one could be a sweat thanks to OG’s low assist numbers, but I think he gets there on the boards again tonight.

Jalen Brunson More/Less Than 37.5 Points

I’m running out of superlatives for Jalen Brunson, but I know I’m not alone. He’s been extraordinary in the postseason after struggling in Games 1 and 2 of the Sixers series. Since Game 3 of that first-round set, the first-time All-Star is averaging an absurd 42 (!) points per game. He’s scored at least 40 in each of the last 4, including an efficient 43-point effort in Game 1 vs. Indiana.

Brunson posted a usage rate in excess of 36% during the regular season with Julius Randle off the floor, so it’s not exactly surprising to see him hoisting with reckless abandon in the playoffs. The Knicks don’t have many other offensive weapons, so why would Brunson stop shooting if opposing defenses are unable to slow him down?

Even with his incredible game logs, it’s a bit jarring to see a PrizePicks points square of 37.5. I suppose what’s more jarring is that the best play here is to take Brunson to top 37.5 points. The usage and efficiency are there, and the Pacers finished just 24th in defensive rating this season.

Josh Hart More/Less Than 18.5 Rebounds + Assists

Speaking of superlatives, we should probably give Josh Hart his flowers. He’s played all 48 minutes in several games for the Knicks this season, including Game 1 of this series. He appears to be legitimately indefatigable. It’s hard to fathom that Hart only averaged about 33 minutes per game during the regular year considering he’s at 46.6 so far through 7 postseason games. Thibs will simply run him out there and never sub him out of the game.

Tonight, we have Hart projected to play 45 minutes, which is probably on the conservative side. Still, it’s hard to actually pull the trigger on giving anyone a 48-minute projection. If the game is competitive, though, Hart may never hit the bench. All he did in his 48 minutes the other night was post 24 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 combined blocks and steals.

Hart is a terrific rebounder for his size (6’4”), and he’s averaging 12.4 boards per game in the postseason. That’s the 4th-highest average in the league behind 7-footers Anthony Davis, Nikola Jokic, and Jarrett Allen. I see no reason to believe Hart won’t be doing a little bit of everything again tonight for the Knicks.
