Ravens vs. Chargers Same Game Parlay Picks for Today

Chargers quarterback Herbert

Week 12 in the NFL concludes with a doozy as the Baltimore Ravens head to Los Angeles for an AFC showdown with the Chargers. With both teams battling for Wild Card positions heading into Monday night, the outcome should have lasting implications on the AFC playoff picture. Justin Herbert looks like a completely new quarterback under Jim Harbaugh while Lamar Jackson and company continue to dominate on offense. Will the game come down to defense?

Ravens vs. Chargers Same Game Parlay Preview

DraftKings Sportsbook offers the Chargers as 2.5-point home underdogs. The Chargers are on a tear behind a strong defense and extremely efficient offense. Herbert looks like a maestro of late and gets a matchup with one of the league’s worst passing defense. So… points?

The implied game total is massive for Monday Night Football. As of this writing, the total rests at 51 points — up more than 3 points since opening. ScoresAndOdds reports that 74% of betting handle resides on the over while only 49% of betting tickets. As the line continues to move up, more bets are being placed on the under. However, the heavier volume of money is continuing to side with the over. Herbert against this defense plus Jackson and Derrick Henry equals points. We might see a shootout.

Khalil Mack and Ladd McConkey are questionable to play. McConkey came up big in Week 11 late against the Bengals. If he can’t go, expect a huge bump up to Quentin Johnston and Joshua Palmer in an incredible matchup. The Chargers sorely need Mack to help contain Jackson. The Chargers are in the middle of the pack concerning rushing yards for quarterbacks in 2024.

For the Ravens, Justice Hill and Rashod Bateman seem likely to play after practicing. Hill will probably see action on passing downs and only in relief as Henry finds himself in a great position. After watching Saquon Barkley rumble for 255 yards on Sunday night, the King might need to reposition his crown against the Chargers. Los Angeles ranks 23rd with 4.7 yards per rushing attempt on defense. With the Chargers defense so stout against the pass, Henry and Jackson will see plenty of volume on the ground.

However, this game starts and ends with the home team. The defensive prowess of the Chargers, combined with stellar play from their quarterback, has led to a very quick resurgence. Despite plenty of turnover on the offensive side of the football, Herbert and the coaching staff are getting the most out of their talent. J.K. Dobbins will face his old team. While the matchup is going to be difficult against the Ravens’ top-ranked rushing defense (3.7 yards per rush attempt), Dobbins is showing everyone why the Ravens were so patient. The play in the passing game continues to open up holes in the running game.

Herbert only has one interception to his 13 touchdowns. Remember, this is a team that wanted to establish the run early in the season. He has seven passing touchdowns over the last 4 games — all victories. The Chargers are underdogs for a reason. Yet, their recent play would suggest an upset could be brewing in Los Angeles.

Baltimore ranks dead last in passing yards per game on defense at 284+ allowed per game. The Ravens are going to struggle with the dynamic Herbert. As has been the case throughout the season, the fate of the Ravens will lie in the hands of Jackson. Can Lamar outscore his opponent again? Will the Ravens be able to move the ball as successfully as the Chargers?

Let’s look through props and build a same game parlay for tonight’s contest.

Same Game Parlay Picks for Ravens vs. Chargers

Justin Herbert Over 21.5 Pass Completions

The Ravens secondary is abysmal. The Baltimore Ravens would steamroll their competition if they could hold onto a lead in the second half. Instead, they continue to get gashed by inferior passing games because they can’t stop anyone.

The Chargers will play a disciplined game. Herbert will roll out, use play action, and even the RPO game to keep Baltimore off balance. Further, as we saw against Cincinnati, the Chargers are not going to muck around with the running game if it isn’t working. Instead, Herbert is going to throw early and often.

I don’t think you can go wrong with the over on any of his passing props. However, I like focusing on completions because we get the same value from short completions. Let’s start here and find a pass-catcher for Herbert.

Quentin Johnston 50+ Receiving Yards

Against Cincinnati, I used Palmer because his receiving prop was lower than Johnston’s. Well, I learned my lesson when Johnston smashed his prop with two touches of the football. Johnston is a YAC machine. The big man can get going in a hurry with a bit of open room. The Ravens secondary is not going to catch Johnston in the open field.

In a plus matchup, the receiving yards markets for all of the Chargers are possible. We will hope Johnston gets there early with a big play.

Derrick Henry 80+ Rushing Yards

The Chargers defense is effectively the polar opposite of the Ravens. The Ravens completely shut down the rushing game but cannot stop the pass. The Chargers are very effective against the pass (206.6 passing yards per game) but are far less effective against the run.

While the Chargers aren’t necessarily dreadful against running backs, this is definitely the path of least resistance against Los Angeles. Henry needs to be established early. After struggling against Pittsburgh in a loss, I expect the Ravens to get back to the ground game in a big way. In a victory, I wouldn’t be shocked if Henry has a Barkley-esque game.
