Sports Info Solutions: MLB DFS Advice for Friday, August 3rd

America’s pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.
Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ “SIS Model 3”.
SIS Model 3 gives DFS players an edge when setting their lineups as it uses the most expansive and accurate wealth of baseball data to create a tested DFS algorithm. You can learn more about the development of the algorithm in the RotoGrinders Marketplace.
Pitching Option

Vince Velasquez, Philadelphia Phillies (FD Price $8,100)
Velasquez has allowed two runs or less in his last five starts. He also owns a solid 10.23 K/9. He will face a Marlins team ranked 28th in wOBA (.296) and a 22.4 K%.
Hitting Options
C/1B) Jakob Bauers, Tampa Bay Rays (FD Price $3,600)
The June call up has been showing off his power with a .358 wOBA against RHP and a .371 wOBA at home under the dome. Opposing starter Lucas Giolito owns a high ERA (6.26) and a .384 wOBA against LHB.
2B) Daniel Murphy, Washington Nationals (FD Price $3,300)
Murphy is finally healthy and swinging like last season (.378 BA, 1.115 OPS last two weeks). He’ll face Anthony DeSclafani, who can’t get out lefties (.409 wOBA).
3B) Colin Moran, Pittsburgh Pirates (FD Price $2,200)
You wouldn’t want Moran against a left-hander, but against a right-hander, at home, he owns a .356 wOBA.
SS) Elvis Andrus, Texas Rangers (FD Price $3,700)
Andrus is a completely different hitter in Arlington (.403 wOBA) than on the road (.244 wOBA). And against a righty at home that number jumps to a .440 wOBA. RHP Davis Hess’ last start didn’t go well, yielding nine hits and six runs to the Angels.
OF) Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals (FD Price $4,300)
Harper has put together three consecutive multi-hit games and appears to be finally getting it together as has his Nationals with 40 runs over the past three games. DeSclafani can’t get out lefties (.409 wOBA) and that’s a bad idea when facing an all-lefty Nationals outfield.
OF) Juan Soto, Washington Nationals (FD Price $3,800)
He’s the second of our three Nationals outfielders in the lineup. Soto is a leading candidate for Rookie of the Year (.306 BA, 13 HR, .973 OPS) and has produced a .444 wOBA at home.
OF) Adam Eaton, Washington Nationals (FD Price $2,900)
Injuries have held Eaton to just 191 plate appearances so far in 2018, but he does have a .380 wOBA against RHP. With the struggling DeSclafani on the mound we like this matchup.
UTIL) Shin-Soo Choo, Texas Rangers (FD Price $3,100)
Just because Choo’s long on-base streak is over doesn’t mean his value to fantasy owners is done. He’s a .278 hitter with 20 HR, 63 runs, 51 RBI and a .378 wOBA. He has produced a .398 wOBA against RHP.
Stacking Option
When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.
Washington Nationals – A hot-hitting group of LHB against a pitcher who owns a .409 wOBA against lefties … the perfect storm. Stack Murphy, Harper, Soto and Eaton.
