Sports Info Solutions: MLB DFS Advice for Saturday, July 7th
America’s pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.
Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ “SIS Model 3”.

Pitching Option
David Price, Boston (FD Price $8000)
Price was not good the last time out against the New York Yankees, but the Royals certainly don’t possess that type of lineup. Previous to his last start, he had gone seven games yielding three runs or less. His opponent, the Royals, rank last in runs-per-game (3.47) and against LHP have produced just a .292 wOBA including a 22.6 K%.
Hitting Options
C/1B) Paul Goldschmidt, Arizona (FD Price $4200)
Goldschmidt has continued his hot June into July, batting .391 with a 1.177 OPS and a .479 wOBA.
2B) Daniel Descalso, Arizona (FD Price $2400)
Descalso likes home cookin’ and RHP. Combine the two and he’s produced a .425 wOBA. Meanwhile, opposing starter Tyson Ross has allowed LHB a .369 wOBA.
3B) Justin Turner, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD Price $3700)
It was a slow start for Turner, who didn’t play his first game until May 15 due to a wrist injury in a Cactus League game. He didn’t start to look like himself until June (.374 wOBA). He’ll face RHP Deck McGuire, who was ugly in his only start this season yielding two home runs and five earned runs in 3.1 IP. McGuire has struggled with RHB yielding a .553 wOBA.
SS) Chris Taylor, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD Price $3300)
Taylor has done a nice job filling in for injured Corey Seager and owns a .346 wOBA against RHP. We have added another RHB because McGuire has struggled so badly against RHB (.553 wOBA).
OF) Joc Pederson, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD Price $3600)
Pederson loves to go up against RHP with all 13 of his home runs and a .405 wOBA against right-handers. He owns a 1.043 OPS over the last 30 days.
OF) David Peralta, Arizona (FD Price $3500)
Peralta has produced a .308 BA and .391 wOBA against RHP and should be able to take advantage of Ross.
OF) Matt Kemp, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD Price $3400)
Kemp must have found the “Fountain of Youth” since returning to Los Angeles, batting .321, 15 HR, 59 RBI and a .385 wOBA this season. On the road this season he’s been deadly, posting a .402 wOBA. He’s swinging a very hot bat in July (.588 BA, .697 wOBA).
UTIL) Jon Jay, Arizona (FD Price $2600)
Just like teammate Descalso, Jay has thrived at home and against RHP, posting a .356 wOBA.
Stacking Option
When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.
Los Angeles Dodgers Turner, Taylor, Pederson and Kemp add up to a solid stack.
