Sports Info Solutions: MLB DFS Advice for Tuesday, July 31st

America’s pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.
Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ “SIS Model 3”.
SIS Model 3 gives DFS players an edge when setting their lineups as it uses the most expansive and accurate wealth of baseball data to create a tested DFS algorithm. You can learn more about the development of the algorithm in the RotoGrinders Marketplace.
Pitching Option
Danny Duffy, Kansas City Royals (FD Price $8,500)

You can ignore his 6-9 record and 4.70 ERA. On the road he’s a much better pitcher (5-4, 3.54 ERA). His opponent, the Chicago White Sox, own a .295 wOBA against LHP with a league-worst 25.9 K%. Just a couple of weeks ago, Duffy went seven shutout innings against the White Sox, yielding just four hits and striking out eight batters in a win.
Hitting Options
C/1B) Ryan Zimmerman, Washington Nationals (FD Price $2,900)
The oft-injured Zimmerman, just off another trip to the disabled list, still knows how to hit left-handers with a .406 wOBA.
2B) Travis Shaw, Milwaukee Brewers (FD Price $3,300)
Now a second baseman to make room for Mike Moustakas at third base, Shaw dominates RHP, particularly on the road where he owns a .394 wOBA.
3B) Eduardo Escobar, Arizona Diamondbacks (FD Price $3,500)
The switch-hitting Escobar owns a .382 wOBA against RHP. He faces Bartolo Colon, who has wilted in the summer heat, yielding a .426 wOBA in June and .356 wOBA in July.
SS) Trea Turner, Washington Nationals (FD Price $3,800)
He boasts a .378 wOBA against LHP at home. Once on base, he has swiped 24 bases this season, going 7-for-9 versus LHP.
OF) David Peralta, Arizona Diamondbacks (FD Price $3,200)
He owns a .410 wOBA against RHP in Arizona and should be a very good option against the struggling Colon.
OF) A.J. Pollock, Arizona Diamondbacks (FD Price $3,900)
Another Diamondbacks outfielder who enjoys home cookin’. He has produced a .381 wOBA at home against RHP (.446 wOBA vs. LHP at home).
OF) Nick Martini, Oakland Athletics (FD Price $2,500)
The just-called-up A’s outfielder has been used almost exclusively against RHP and that’s worked well. He owns a .398 wOBA in 45 plate appearances. He’ll face RHP Sam Gaviglio, who has allowed a .412 wOBA to lefties on the road.
UTIL) Jed Lowrie, Oakland Athletics (FD Price $3400)
He’s quietly put together another good season (.274, 17 HR, 68 RBI) with most of the damage done as a LHB vs. a RHP (14 home runs, .374 wOBA).
Stacking Option
When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.
Arizona Diamondbacks – Ganging up against the fading 45-year-old Colon is a solid option. Add slugger Paul Goldschmidt to Escobar, Peralta and Pollock.
