Sports Info Solutions: MLB DFS Advice for Wednesday, July 4th

SIS

America’s pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.

Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ “SIS Model 3”.

SIS Model 3 gives DFS players an edge when setting their lineups as it uses the most expansive and accurate wealth of baseball data to create a tested DFS algorithm. You can learn more about the development of the algorithm in the RotoGrinders Marketplace.

Pitching Option

Rich Hill, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD Price $7600) – Hill was very impressive last time out striking out a season-high 10 Rockies over 6.2 IP. He’s pitched well in two of three starts since returning from the DL. He’ll faces a Pittsburgh offense that has struggled the past 30 days (.288 wOBA), including just 20 home runs.

Hitting Options

C/1B) Yonder Alonso, Cleveland (FD Price $2,900)

Alonso does most of his damage against RHP (.354 wOBA) and faces a just-recalled Trevor Oaks and his .605 wOBA (eight runs on 19 hits and two walks over 9.2 IP).

2B) Scooter Gennett, Cincinnati (FD Price $3,900)

Gennett blasted a home run for us last night and we go back to the well again Wednesday. Few second basemen are hotter than Gennett, who owns a .332 BA, .379 wOBA against RHP and a .446 wOBA in July. Opposing starter Dylan Covey has allowed a .423 wOBA against LHB on the road and .370 wOBA overall.

3B) Eugenio Suarez, Cincinnati (FD Price $4,100)

We stay in Ohio where Suarez is producing excellent numbers (.305 BA, 17 HR, 63 RBI, .403 wOBA). He’s hitting both lefties (.440 wOBA) and righties (.389 wOBA).

SS) Jose Peraza, Cincinnati (FD Price $3,300)

The righty Peraza hits RHP better than LHP and has been swinging a hot bat of late, posting a .350 wOBA in June and .460 in July.

OF) Jesse Winker, Cincinnati (FD Price $3,200)

Winker owns a .421 wOBA against RHP at home and gets Covey who struggles against LHB, particularly on the road (.423 wOBA).

OF) George Springer, Houston (FD Price $3,700)

Springer returned from injury Tuesday night (back) and we get him at a reduced price. He owns a .383 wOBA against LHP.

OF) Brandon Nimmo, New York Mets (FD Price $3,000)

Nimmo has been the most productive Mets hitter this season (.390 wOBA) and in particular against RHP (.413 wOBA).

UTIL) Yoan Moncada, Chicago White Sox (FD Price $3,300)

Switch-hitting Moncada has hit all 10 of his home runs against RHP (.337 wOBA) and will face RHP Sal Romano who has yielded a .371 wOBA to LHB.

Stacking Option

When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.

We already have our stack in the lineup with Gennett, Suarez, Peraza and Winker.
