The Field Report: Week 8

The Field Report is designed to give you a look into the most popular plays from FanDuel’s Thursday Night action. In order to truly seperate your entry from the rest of the field, you need to create a very unique roster. In GPP’s especially, playing along with the rest of your opponents won’t get you very far. The rules are much different in H2H’s and 50/50’s, but in tournaments where you need to beat ALL of your opponents (e.g. major qualifiers), you need to take risks and use a player or two that you know will be lightly owned. The percentages in the tables below come from the 15K Thursday Rush #2. Since this data comes from Thursday contests, the ownership percentages for the players listed below will be a bit higher on average for Sunday contests.

Of the four players that found themselves in the table of players owned in at least 20% of leagues, not a single one of them had the big games that “the field” apparently thought they would. Keenan Allen, Victor Cruz and Justin Blackmon all had decent performances, but couldn’t come up with touchdowns, leading to some disappointment. The Chiefs D also didn’t live up to expectations, forcing only one turnover against a 3rd string quarterback.

Matt Forte and Harry Douglas had very productive games, but as a whole, the 10%-19.9% table was full of let-downs, like Nick Foles and Josh Gordon. Unlike in Week 6, this was a week where success was not found through playing the popular picks. As for this week, quarterback was very spread out, as not a single QB was owned in more than 10.5% in the Thursday Rush #2. There also wasn’t a single defense owned in more than 17.4% of leagues; ownership was spread out between Kansas City, Seattle, New Orleans and Cincinnati. Here is the full Field Report for Week 8 (all players are listed by highest-to-lowest ownership percentage inside the tables):
