Monday’s lone NFL contest will feature Jimmy Garoppolo and the Las Vegas Raiders against Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions. Both teams are coming off of blowout losses in Week 7, and both teams are dealing with a myriad of injuries to key players, making it difficult to find an edge on a side in this contest.

Ahead of kickoff, the Lions are favored by 7.5 points on the spread. The game total is set at over/under 46.5 points. If choosing to wager instead on the player prop market, we have three prop leans for tonight’s matchup!

Titans vs. Steelers Player Props for MNF

Diontae Johnson u5.5 Receptions (-146), Caesars

Diontae Johnson had a team-high eight catches, 85 receiving yards, and 14 targets in Week 8, but it’s worth noting that Mitch Trubisky threw 27 of Pittsburgh’s 43 pass attempts in that game. In Week 9, Kenny Pickett will return to the field, which limits the ceiling for Johnson considerably. Another limiting factor for Johnson in this matchup is the fact that Johnson is likely to draw the tougher of the two coverage assignments this evening, with the majority of his offensive snaps coming against Sean Murphy-Bunting. Murphy-Bunting has excelled so far in 2023, ranking 24th out of 114 qualified cornerbacks in coverage grade, per PFF. Johnson eclipsed this market number only twice in his final 14 games during the 2022 campaign. It would not be surprising to see him finish with five receptions or fewer again tonight.

Tyjae Spears o2.5 Receptions (+133), Caesars

Tyjae Spears has been a dynamic weapon for the Titans this fall, even if he has not been the true focal point of the offense with Derrick Henry still in town. Nonetheless, Tennessee consistently looks for ways to get Spears the ball, evident from the fact that Spears has at least four targets in five of his seven games played in 2023. Pittsburgh’s defense has been good, but not great against opposing running backs in the passing game this year. Through seven games, the Steelers have allowed Christian McCaffrey, Jerome Ford, Josh Jacobs, and Travis Etienne to have varying levels of success against them as pass catchers. At plus money, this is a worthwhile stab on Thursday in a matchup that should force Will Levis to utilize the short passing game often.

NFL DFS Pick’em

Allen Robinson More Than 14.5 Receiving Yards, PrizePicks

Allen Robinson has been extremely unproductive so far this fall, but there is some hope for him to do something positive tonight. Tennessee’s top slot cornerback, Roger McCreary, has been ruled out for tonight’s action. In his place, the Titans will turn to undrafted free agent Eric Garror, who allowed five receptions on six targets in his direction in Week 8. According to PFF, Robinson still played a team-leading 32 snaps in the slot last week against the Jaguars. In fact, he has led the team in snaps played in the slot in each game the Steelers have played this year. If Robinson does not secure at least one or two catches this week, it might never happen for him.
