For each segment, the Fantastic Four will include my top 4 pitchers for tournaments on FanDuel and DraftKings. They’ll sometimes include plays picking up ownership if I feel like the rostership still doesn’t reflect their upside. Typically, if there is a cash game lock and someone who is pushing 50% rostered, these pitchers won’t get mentioned. However, sometimes on smaller slates, four pitchers won’t be an option.

Tonight we have Aaron Nola as the top hero on the board, with a scary but high upside matchup against the Atlanta Braves. Although he’s the highest projected pitcher, he is also being rostered heavily by the field. Luis Garcia, Shane McClanahan and Carlos Rodon should pick up a good chunk of rostership as well, however, I think there are some gems outside of this group. Let’s see how we can get different in tournaments:

Spencer Strider 9100 FD / 8700 DK – Strider won’t be completely un-rostered by any means, however, he’s a pitcher at a discount from the aces with the potential to match their upside. Similar to Nola, this matchup isn’t without danger, although we can hope for a big potential score with the Phillies lineup being so high in strikeouts. Strider has a 38% strikeout rate on the year, and as long as he can keep runners off the base path, a few solo bombs won’t hurt us too much.

George Kirby 8500 FD / 8600 DK – I prefer Strider to Kirby, but Kirby will be rostered a lot less and still has some upside here in this matchup against Texas. His reverse splits nature should help him in this spot, with only 3 right-handed bats currently in the projected lineup. Adolis Garcia and Marcus Semien due pose strong threats from that side, but I trust Kirby to put up a solid game in a nice pitching ball-park.

Mike Clevinger 8100 FD/DK – Clevinger is my favorite option at a low price today. The final cheapy I’d include as an option would be Mitch White, however he worries me, and I don’t feel comfortable touting him aggressively. I’d definitely keep White in my MME pool, however in Single-Entry formats, Clevinger is as low as I want to go, and is maybe my top option. The Tigers showed last night they aren’t a slouch against left-handed pitching, however, they’re one of the absolute worst offenses in the league against righties. Clevinger will be played by the field a little bit tonight, but I think he has the power to heroically take down a tournament.

Earth’s Mightiest MLB DFS Stacks For Today

Chicago White Sox – Playing in Coors, the White Sox are without a doubt my top team on the board. What I find interesting, is that they really aren’t being rostered aggressively by the field at this point in the day. Gavin Sheets and Eloy Jiminez will be two of my top options on the slate to save salary, and Tim Anderson looks incredibly interesting at a week Short Stop position. Fire up the White Sox, I will be.

Colorado Rockies – Team 2 in Coors…not picking up much rostership? I’m in. Although I’m not as high on the Rockies as the White Sox, Kopech has a tendency to get wild, and in Coors Field you simply can’t be doing that. I like rostering the Rockies against lefties, however, tonight if the field continues to shy away from the Rockies, I’ll be trying to double up.

Toronto Blue Jays – The Red Sox and Dodgers are also in strong spots, however the field is getting to them at appropriate amounts, or even too much. The Blue Jays face a low strikeout right-handed pitcher, which is exactly the type of arm they typically explode against. They showed recently in their 27 run game just how powerful this offense can be, and from top to bottom 1-9, this is my favorite full stack outside of Coors Field.
