NBA Player Props, January 30, 2023

Dennis Schroder o23.5 points + rebounds + assists (-125), MGM

Per CourtIQ, Dennis Schroder is averaging 22.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per 36 minutes of action this season when both LeBron James and Anthony Davis are off of the floor at the same time. According to props.cash, in Schroder’s last four games with the Lakers’ co-stars in street clothes, he has scored 18 points, 30 points, 32 points, and 14 points, respectively. In those four contests he has never recorded fewer than three rebounds or two assists. Simply, his expected volume for tonight’s action makes this line far too low to pass up – take the over.

Nic Claxton o16.5 points (-111), Caesars

Entering play, Nic Claxton has eclipsed this number in five of his last six contests, with his lone miss being a 13 point performance against the New York Knicks on Saturday afternoon. Prior to his most recent game against the Knicks, Claxton had attempted at least nine field goals in seven consecutive games, including three games of 12 field goal attempts or more. When Kevin Durant is off of the floor this season, Claxton is averaging 18.3 points per 36 minutes of action. His ability to avoid foul trouble in a recently expanded role makes him a worthwhile investment for bettors in this spot.

Deandre Ayton o29.5 points + rebounds (-115), FanDuel

There are few players in the NBA who are less fun to wager on, but Deandre Ayton continues to do enough to cash tickets for us, which has us coming back to the well once again to begin the new week. Per CourtIQ, Ayton is averaging 22.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per 36 minutes of action this season when Devin Booker, Cameron Payne, and Landry Shamet are off of the floor. Ayton has eclipsed this market number in three straight games entering play on Monday, with healthy volume on the offensive end of the floor – at least 20 shot attempts in each contest. Tonight, he gets a favorable matchup against a Toronto Raptors defense that has recently allowed 20 points + rebounds to Kevon Looney and 42 points + rebounds to Julius Randle. Trust Ayton to get the job done for us once again, but do not expect it to be easy…because it never is with him.
