NBA Player Props, February 5, 2023

Fred VanVleet o6.5 assists (-142), FanDuel

According to EdgHouse, Fred VanVleet has eclipsed this number in 12 of 16 games played since January 4. In that span, he is averaging 7.6 assists and 12.8 potential assists per game – proving that he is capable of consistently hitting the over at this market number, and proving that he has consistently high volume. Today, VanVleet has an extremely favorable matchup against a Memphis Grizzlies defense that ranks 29th out of 30 teams in opponent assists per game across the last 30 days. The juice should be worth the squeeze in this spot.

C.J McCollum o5.5 assists (-130), DraftKings

Since Brandon Ingram returned to the floor on January 25, C.J. McCollum is averaging 7.0 assists and 12.2 potential assists per game across five contests. During that stretch, McCollum has eclipsed this market number four times, with zero games of fewer than five assists. On Sunday, he gets a favorable matchup against a Sacramento Kings defense that ranks 22nd in opponent assists per game across the last month of action. The math makes sense here- trust McCollum to get the job done.

Buddy Hield o16.5 points (-120), FanDuel

Overall, the Cleveland Cavaliers are strong defensively. However, their one major weakness is on the perimeter, where they are allowing their opponents to shoot 37.2% this season. On the road this year, Cleveland ranks 28th out of 30 teams in opponent three-point percentage. In 54 games played, Buddy Hield leads the Indiana Pacers in three-point attempts per game (8.8), and is shooting an efficient 42.8% from beyond-the-arc. When Indiana hosted Cleveland on December 29, Hield had 25 points on 10-14 shooting from the field. Expect him to have another strong performance on Sunday.
