Commanders vs. Eagles Same Game Parlay Picks for Today

Amazon Prime stumbled upon a great game when they booked an NFC East division rivalry game for Thursday Night Football. The Commanders continue a resurgent season with rookie sensation Jayden Daniels at the helm. The Eagles look to be a strong playoff contender again after adding Saquon Barkley to the fold. Typically a defensive struggle, could the Commanders and Eagles dazzle with offense on Thursday night?

Commanders vs. Eagles Same Game Parlay Preview

DraftKings Sportsbook features the Eagles as 3.5-point home favorites on Thursday night. The implied game total is 48.5 points, and ScoresAndOdds reports that a majority of the betting action is on the over. The public and sharps both think this game can shoot out but the game total has dropped a full point since opening. With two of the top 10 scoring offenses in the NFL playing on Thursday night, a shootout is possible.

With the Commanders coming in at 7-3 and the Eagles at 7-2, the implications in this game are very clear. This game could easily decide the NFC East division when the dust settles. The Eagles come into this contest at full health — even welcoming back Jordan Mailata at left tackle off of injured reserve. DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert were removed from the injury report and will play on Thursday night. The offense is ready to roll against a defense that allows 27.2 PPG on the road.

The Commanders are also reasonably healthy coming into the short week. Marshon Lattimore will not play on Thursday after the trade from New Orleans. However, Brian Robinson is back after missing a couple of games with a hamstring injury. Sledding will not be easy for Robinson and his battery mates. The Eagles allowed the 10-fewest rushing yards to the running back position thus far in 2024.

For the Eagles and, more specifically, Barkley, the sledding should be far simpler. The Commanders allowed the 5th-most rushing yards to the running back position through 10 games. In total rushing yards per attempt, the Commanders allow 5.0 yards per rush attempt on the road. Barkley would be in the running for Offensive Player of the Year if not for Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson. Barkley is averaging 5.8 yards per rush attempt with over 1,100 all-purpose yards in 2024. The elite playmaker needed a change of scenery, and the Philadelphia offense was just the home. Expect a lot of Barkley in a pivotal divisional game.

We cannot talk about offense without touting the incredible play of Daniels. Daniels is the reason teams continue to take chances on quarterbacks in the first round of the NFL draft. When you hit, your franchise is revitalized. Daniels ranks inside the top 10 in completion percentage and QBR. Daniels is an accurate downfield thrower with the ability to break off big runs. Along with his gaudy passing numbers, Daniels has 464 rushing yards with 13 total touchdowns. Daniels has only thrown 2 interceptions.

Jalen Hurts is not far behind with all of his weapons healthy. The Eagles revitalized their “tush push,” and Hurts has 10 rushing touchdowns and counting. With so many weapons available, the Eagles offense will be a true test for the Washington defense.

Thursday Night Football will go a long way in determining if the Washington Commanders are contenders or pretenders. Let’s build a same game parlay to sweat along with the NFC East action.

Same Game Parlay Picks for Commanders vs. Eagles

Saquon Barkley Over 95.5 Rushing Yards

This is an absolute smash spot for Barkley. He was hardly used against the Cowboys in the blowout last week and should be very well-rested despite a Thursday night game. The Commanders are a soft rushing defense and haven’t played against the Philadelphia running attack this season.

With Jordan Mailata returning and Washington guessing all night with the Eagles’ RPO game, Barkley is going to shake free and find a big run or two. Assuming the Eagles don’t blow the Commanders out, Saquon should assume his typical 20+ carry workload.

Noah Brown Over 3.5 Receptions

For Washington, I don’t want to attack the outside as the Eagles continue to shut the vertical passing game down. The Commanders will likely have to throw the football to keep up with the Eagles.

While Brown is most known this season for the Hail Mary reception against Chicago, he is quietly becoming one of Daniels’ favorite targets. Brown has 6, 6, and 7 targets over the last 3 games for Washington — all close contests. Likely playing from behind on the road, we can expect Brown to see a similar share of work.

We are getting +115 odds on this prop, which happens to correlate negatively with our first selection and the next selection. This will help boost our odds on tonight’s same game parlay.

Philadelphia -2.5

While I think the Commanders are a playoff team because of their schedule the rest of the way, I don’t think they get the job done in Philadelphia. Daniels seems like the real deal at quarterback, but the Commanders are living off of 2 wins against the Giants and a Hail Mary.

Philadelphia is significantly more rested than the Commanders given they didn’t have to play in the second half against Dallas. Barkley was given a break from his normal workload, and Hurts didn’t even play most of the second half.

The Eagles will be able to pound the football against Washington and get a win at home. I don’t like betting this line straight up, but for SGP purposes, I like the option of winning with a field goal.
