Home Run Derby - MLB DFS Community Contest: Tuesday, June 14th

Happy Dinger Tuesday! FanDuel Sportsbook is running back their Dinger Tuesday promo. What a beautiful marriage we have with this promotion and our article! Let’s review last Friday’s supercharged slate, update the leaderboard, and get into a massive Tuesday night slate.

The full 15-game Friday slate brought 47 home runs! If you get that type of action today, you could bring home quite the large free bet on FanDuel. Despite the bounty of power, several popular plays didn’t go yard. Kyle Schwarber paid myself and others off while a host of Blue Jays added to a few members’ totals. June is still very early with plenty of time to get it going. Hendo and Dukefan put together monster weeks and thus hold a shared lead. Let’s see if anyone can catch up tonight!
Reminder! Prizes were doubled this month. Spread the word!

Tuesday, June 14th MLB DFS Slate Notes
Tonight’s slate is 14 games. Neither of the Cardinals-Pirates games are on the slate because of the doubleheader. That said, if tonight is anything like Friday, we might see close to 50 home runs.
The weather… Wow! No concerns at the time of this writing. Chicago and St. Louis seem to be big time home run environments given the weather conditions. Yankee Stadium is on the slate. Coors Field is on the slate. Toronto welcomes Baltimore. The Astros play in Texas. This slate is going to be wild.
On tonight’s slate, here are the worst five pitchers with respect to HR/9:
Kris Bubic, KC, 1.99
Jose Urquidy, HOU, 1.79
Kyle Hendricks, CHI, 1.69
Gerrit Cole, NYY, 1.48
Chris Bassitt, NYM, 1.45
Oh, baby! Kyle Hendricks with winds blowing out heavily for the Padres. Target acquired.
Here are your ISO leaders for the last 14 days:
Byron Buxton, MIN, .500
Adam Duvall, ATL, .476
Bryce Harper, PHI, .450
Kyle Schwarber, PHI, .404
Pete Alonso, NYM, .400
Aaron Judge, NYY, .396
Aside from Adam Duvall, this isn’t shocking. The stars are shining bright over the last month.
Let’s try to cut this slate down to three picks in what feels like a buffet of potential power tonight.
Tuesday, June 14th MLB Home Run Picks
Luxury Box – Jose Ramirez – 3B – $6,100
Wrigley Field. St. Louis. Gas cans. High totals. Yankee Stadium. Blue Jays against Jordan Lyles.
By the way, the Guardians are in Coors Field! What? This slate has the potential to go absolutely bananas. Will Jose Ramirez go overlooked in Coors Field?
Aaron Judge is impacting how we view the landscape of greatness. Judge’s video game number mean that Jose Ramirez and his 16 home run and 56 RBI are going overlooked. Now Ramirez gets to play in an airless Coors Field against bad pitching.
I will be grabbing as much Jose Ramirez as I can over the next few days. Coors Field isn’t necessarily a home run haven but most players aren’t Jose Ramirez. Ramirez is priced at +350 this evening. No need to play games here.
Promenade – Wilson Contreras – C – $4,500
I don’t think you can start your picks today without at least looking over this game at Wrigley Field. With temperature above 90 degrees and winds blowing significantly out to left field, Kevin Roth’s WeatherEdge is in love with this game (small sample). That said, this makes sense. Wrigley Field is so sensitive to wind and it’s hot.
I don’t care who is pitching tonight. Anyone can give up a fly ball that carries forever. Contreras is one of many Cubs on my radar this evening with regard to betting as well as DFS. We don’t need to overthink this one. Contreras against a lefty in optimal conditions.
Yes, please!
FanDuel is hip to these conditions with Contreras only fetching +235 on your money. Shop around but I suspect you won’t find much better given this weather.
Bleacher Seats – Frank Schwindel – 1B – $2,900
See above. Frank Schwindel also hits plenty of fly balls against left-handed pitching and see the same conditions as his teammate. I want two cracks at this game. We added him to close out our picks.
If we add Schwindel at 290 (environment) then we have a +4913 SGP on FanDuel. The odds aren’t great, but I will certainly add this to a very busy home run card.
Who are you picking tonight? What about any player for every game? I will try to post my home run card progressively on Twitter as lineups lock across the league. Good luck today!
