Jaguars vs. Bengals Betting Guide: Odds, Action Report & Best Bets for Thursday Night Football

We’re just a few hours away from the Jacksonville Jaguars and Cincinnati Bengals kicking off Week 4 on Thursday Night Football. It might be a lackluster primetime matchup, but that’s nothing a sportsbook can’t fix. Let’s gear up for the game by looking at the spread, bet counts, notable storylines from across the industry, and a few Thursday Night Football picks from our analysts.

Thursday Night Football Spread: Bengals -7.5

It looks like spread will close where it opened, with oddsmakers favoring the Bengals by 7.5 points over the winless Jaguars. That might be where the spread opened Sunday night, but it’s certainly a few points different than the early lookahead line from last week, which was Bengals -4.5. That only lasted for a short minute. Oddsmakers reneged after the Jaguars lost their third straight game by double digits, falling to 0-3 ATS in the process.

While the Jaguars fell, the Bengals pounced on the Steelers in a dominant 24-10 road victory at Heinz Field. Since then, bettors have taken a liking to Joe Burrow & Co., placing 71% of bets and 74% of the handle on the Bengals at PointsBet Sportsbook, as of 4 pm ET. The betting action is even more lopsided at WynnBet, with 82.7% of tickets and 77.3% of the handle behind Cincinnati.

Total dips to 45.5 at BetMGM

It would be wise to use our NFL odds tool to shop Thursday Night Football odds. At BetMGM, the Over/Under is down to 45.5 but you can still bet under 46.5 at FanDuel, BetRivers, and Unibet.

Our own NFL betting analyst, Nick Galaida, has a play on the total, pointing out that 47 is “the fourth most common total in the NFL since the extra point was moved in 2015.” To get his pick, read Jaguars vs. Bengals Odds & Predictions. You can also find his favorite prop bet below.

Props & Parlays

Same game parlays are blowing up across sports betting sites, and Sloan Piva capitalized on one last Sunday. His Jaguars vs. Bengals parlay pays out +834 tonight, check it out!

As for the prop market, I’m using Scores And Odds Premium tools to pick my spots. SAO Premium members get access to projections for each player as well as a prop-shop tool that shows which sportsbook has the best line!

For example, they’re projecting 4.14 receptions for DJ Chark and you can bet Over 3.5 receptions (-105) at BetMGM. Make sure to sign up for SAO Premium for projections for every player, every game!

Nick Galaida has another receiving prop he likes:

Ja’Marr Chase o68.5 receiving yards (-110) at FanDuel

“Wide receiver Tee Higgins has officially been ruled out for the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football. This means an expanded role for emerging star Ja’Marr Chase in the Cincinnati offense. Chase has at least 54 yards receiving and four targets in each of the team’s first three games. Tonight will be his most favorable matchup, playing against a Jacksonville secondary that has proven themselves incapable of stopping anyone through the air this fall. Chase is likely to matchup against Shaquill Griffin, who has arguably only one productive season on his four-year NFL resume. Expect a big night out of Chase.”

Speaking of Chase, 24.6% of first-touchdown bets are on Chase +700, with the second-most popular option being Joe Mixon +450 at 18%, followed by Tyler Boyd +840 at 10%. Interestingly, 8% of bets are going with Trevor Lawrence +2500. Lawrence has only nine rush attempts and 46 yards this season. Will he use his legs to get his first rushing touchdown tonight?

And of course, do not miss arguably the best sports betting offer to date at Caesars (see below!).

Good luck!
