The RotoGrinders MLB Grind Down article will give you an in-depth analysis into the MLB schedule. This article will break down the numbers for every single game and give you analysis on which trends you can exploit. While matchups are a major factor in daily fantasy baseball, there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, weather, and salaries.

The analysis should point you in the right direction, but it is still up to you to decipher the information and make your own selections. No sport has more variance than baseball. The best choice is not always the right choice but following the trends will win you money over time.

• Away Kyle Gibson might be Min best prospect at SP but he is way down the list of young arms in the MLB. He has been hit hard in his last 2 outings. one of those was from this same NYY team as they hung 8 ER on him. NYY is batting .245 at home, .246 versus right-handers, and .260 over the last 7 days. • Home Robinson Cano and Lyle Overbay have been hot but I think everyone is playable today. Load’em up! RG Stack Rating 8

He is an inning eater consistently throwing over 110 pitches a start and he will get you Ks. A + B = Huge Upside. TEX is batting .257 on the road, .267 versus right-handers, and .281 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 8

• Away Martin Perez has been okay on the year but he has yet to face a matchup as unfavorable as he has today. DET is a monster at home. They are batting .301 at home, .266 versus left-handers, and .291 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 2

• Home Miguel Cabrera is super hot with 37.75 fp over the past 7 days. Victor Martinez, Tori Hunter, and Prince Fielder have all been hot as well. Cabrera is batting .420 versus left-handed pitching. Peralta, Fielder, and Hunter all bat well versus left-handers also. RG Stack Rating 7

• Home Ubaldo Jimenez posted a very strong June with a 3.08 ERA. He is off to a better start in July with a 2.45 ERA. His home ERA of 5.80 on the year is scary but he seems to be trending in the right direction. KAN is batting .261 on the road, .251 versus right-handers, and .225 over the last 7 days. • Away James Shields has actually been a better pitcher on the road this year. He has had a fantastic year so far and has been every bit of the ace that KAN hoped for when they signed him. CLE is batting .250 at home, .255 versus right-handers, and .242 over the last 7 days.RG Start-Ability 7

• Home Michael Brantley has been super hot over the last 7 days with 35 fp. Lonnie Chisenhall has been hot as well with 24.5 fp over the last 7. Michael Brantley is 6-18 versus Shields also. RG Stack Rating 2

• Away Salavador Perez is batting over .300 versus right-handers. Eric Hosmer is 6-16 with 2 HRs versus Jiminez. Lorenzo Cain is 3-8 with 1 HR versus him as well. Alex Gordon has been the only productive Royal over the last 7 days. RG Stack Rating 4

• Home Henderson Alvarez first 2 starts were against the Braves. 1 was at home the other on the road and the results were very similar. It bothers me that he could only manage 3.5 Ks per start versus a Braves team that Ks often. I am not sure what to think of him just yet as a starter, though WAS is batting .219 on the road, .248 versus right-handers, and .246 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 3

• Away Taylor Jordan first few starts have gone well except his pitch count has been held to around 90 and the Ks are not there for him. He has very limited upside but he is worth a look on a multiple pitcher site if he is really cheap because he is such a heavy favorite. MIA is batting .231 on the road, .233 versus right-handers, and .220 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 4

• Home Giancario Stanton has been hot with 27.5 fp over the last 7 days. Logan Morrison is batting .338 versus right-handers. RG Stack Rating 4

• Away Jayson Werth, Bryce Harper, Ryan Zimmerman, and Anthony Rendon are all hot for WAS. Wilson Ramos, Rendon and Harper are all batting over .300 versus right-handers. WAS as a team has a .370 BAA versus Alvarez RG Stack Rating 6

• Home Julio Teheran continues to pitch well on the season and at home where his ERA is a very nice 2.50. The most important stat is that his K/9 ratio jumps over 9 at home, which turns from a matchup play into a legitimate starter. CIN is batting .243 on the road, .250 versus right-handers, and .262 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 7

• Away Tony Cingrani numbers do not dip that much on the road. His K/9 stays roughly the same and his ERA only jumps to a 3.75. He will face an injured ATL team. This is a mixed bag because it should mean an easier matchup but it is also taking out some of the guys who help pad pitcher’s K totals. ATL is batting .258 on the road, .238 versus left-handers, and .268 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 7

Batter Grind Down

• Home Brian McCann and Freddie Freeman have been the most productive Braves. Chris Johnson, Tyler Pastornicky and Reed Johnson are all batting over .300 versus left-handers. RG Stack Rating 2

• Away Shin-Soo Choo has been hot for CIN. Both he and Joey Votto are batting over .300 versus right-handers. RG Stack Rating 3
