What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – PIT -120
Pitcher Grind Down
PIT – Gerrit Cole finally suffered his first loss after starting his career with 4 straight wins. He is a pitcher that has given up a lot of hits, but has managed to pitch his way out of trouble for the most part. His K numbers aren’t very high, only 16 K’s in 29 innings, but he is a cheap option tonight that could be in line for a win. Decent option on multiple pitcher sites. In Play
OAK – Dan Straily had a monster game against the Cubbies in his last start. His biggest problem is that he can sometimes have command issues and his pitch count ends up costing him the chance to pitch more innings. He has a pretty good matchup tonight against the Pirates in Pittsburgh and is in the same boat as Cole. In Play
Batter Grind Down
PIT – Neither of these pitchers has ever faced the other team before so no BvP to go off of here. Vegas expects a low scoring game so don’t expect too many fireworks here. Andrew McCutchen is always in play against average pitching though.
OAK – This Oakland team is tough to predict offensively, but I like both Coco Crisp and Jed Lowrie if you can take them for a decent price.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.5
- Favored Team – TB -175
Pitcher Grind Down
TB – Chris Archer is turning into a pretty decent fantasy option. He is averaging 7.5 K’s per 9 innings and plays on a Rays team that often gives it pitcher’s good run support. Archer has pitched well at home this season with a 3.38 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP. In Play
MIN – Kyle Gibson got rocked in his last start against the Yankees. He gave up 11 hits and 8 earned runs over 5 innings. Until he can prove that he can pitch in the big leagues, I am staying away. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
TB – If Gibson pitches like he did in his last start, this could be a great spot for the Rays. Desmond Jennings is on fire right now and should be taken unless his salary is way too expensive. Best part about Jennings is that he bats leadoff so that extra at bat comes into play. Longoria, Zobrist, and Loney all in play as well.
MIN – I think Archer pitches pretty well tonight, but Joe Mauer is always in play against right hand pitching.

ATL vs R | ATL BvP | MIA vs R | MIA BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – ATL -165
Pitcher Grind Down
MIA – Henderson Alvarez is a below average pitcher that almost always gives up a few runs. He is a big underdog against an offense that has been putting up runs. Avoid
ATL – Julio Teheran just faced this same Marlins team in his last start. In that game, he only managed to go 5 innings, but racked up 7 K’s while allowing 3 earned runs. I think he pitches better tonight than he did in his last start and his K numbers really make him an interesting play. In Play
Batter Grind Down
MIA – Sure the Marlins scored 3 earned runs on Teheran, but two of them came off of an Ozuna HR. I don’t think they will be able to put up 3 runs tonight.
ATL – The Braves bats are heating up (with the exception of B.J. Upton of course). Jayson Heyward, Brian McCann, and Freddie Freeman all have a tasty matchup against Alvarez.

LAA vs L | LAA BvP | CHC vs R | CHC BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.5
- Favored Team – LAA -125
Pitcher Grind Down
CHC – Travis Wood continues to mow through NL opponents, but tonight he faces a much stronger AL offense, so he will really be tested. The Angels are a team that has a lot of firepower. I am typically not sold on Wood against NL opponents, so why should that change tonight? Avoid
LAA – Joe Blanton has had at least 6 K’s in each of his last 6 starts and has topped double digit K’s in two of those starts. I think he is a great risk/reward play tonight against the Cubs who aren’t exactly the best offensive team in baseball. In Play
Batter Grind Down
CHC – Blanton is a high strikeout pitcher, but he also gives up a lot of HR’s. Soriano, Schierholtz, and Rizzo all look to be in a good spot, especially if the wind is blowing out.
LAA – I don’t trust Wood tonight, but I also don’t trust the Angels bats outside of Mike Trout. Howie Kendrick is good against lefties though.

CIN vs R | CIN BvP | MIL vs L | MIL BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 9.0
- Favored Team – CIN -145
Pitcher Grind Down
MIL – Wily Peralta has put together 2 quality starts in his last 3 outings, but he is a guy that just can’t be trusted. This Reds offense can really put up a good number of runs against right hand pitchers and I think the Reds are in for a big night. Avoid
CIN – Tony Cingrani is a good risk to take if you are in any of the big qualifiers tonight. His price tag isn’t too high on any of the sites, he has a K rate of almost 11 per 9 innings and he is facing a Brewers team that doesn’t have it’s best two power hitters in Braun and Ramirez. In Play
Batter Grind Down
MIL – Jonathan Lucroy, Rickie Weeks, and Carlos Gomez all hit lefties well, but as a team the Brewers aren’t very good against lefties. I would maybe take one Brewer tonight, but don’t overdo it.
CIN – Vegas loves the Reds bats tonight and I do too. Left hand bats have an OPS of 0.829 against Peralta this season so you will surely be seeing a couple of those lefty bats (Choo, Votto, Bruce) on my teams.
