What Vegas Says

Pitcher Grind Down

WASGio Gonzalez has been very good at home over the last couple of years. This year he has posted a 3.16 ERA and a 1.100 WHIP. I think the matchup is there for him tonight against the Diamondbacks who are a different team on the road. Look for Gio to pitch a strong game and be in line for the win. Target

ARITrevor Cahill has a great matchup against the weak Nationals lineup, but I just can’t trust him. He has only had one quality start in his last four and until he turns it around I am staying clear. I think the Vegas line should be more favored towards the Nats. Avoid

Batter Grind Down

WAS – Washington seems to hit right hand pitchers well, in fact their batting average is 23 points above their average against lefties and the OPS is much higher too. I think Adam LaRoche provides some great value at 1B and Denard Span is a sneaky leadoff play.

ARI – I don’t love the D-Back bats but anytime they are facing a lefty, Paul Goldschmidt and Cody Ross should pop up in your mind as options. I think there are better options, but Goldy could be a nice GPP play.

What Vegas Says

Pitcher Grind Down

DET – If you throw out his last start, Rick Porcello has actually pitched really well over the last month or so. His ERA is close to what it was last season, but his WHIP has dropped dramatically so I think he is just getting some bad breaks. He faces an Angels team today that disappears more often than they should so I think he is in play. In Play

LAA – You don’t see C.J. Wilson as an underdog with an over/under of 9 very often. That just goes to show you how good this Tigers team is. My philosophy is to play it safe most of the time on pitchers and that’s what I recommend here. Avoid

Batter Grind Down

DET – The Tigers really hit lefties well. Miguel Cabrera and Jhonny Peralta are both batting over .400 against lefties this season and should both be in for good nights against Wilson. V-Mart has been coming around lately too and is so cheap that he is a good value play.

LAA – This Angels offense just keeps letting me down, they never seem to show up when you expect them to and always end up scoring less runs than you would think that they should. Mike Trout is really the only Angel’s bat I trust.

What Vegas Says

Pitcher Grind Down

BALChris Tillman is a pretty average pitcher with a below average matchup. He has posted a 4.60 ERA at home this year and I think that’s about what we can expect tonight. He could be in line for a win, but I just don’t see much upside. Avoid

CLEJustin Masterson is a guy that I really trust at home and a guy that I rarely like to take on the road. He has a 5.12 ERA on the road and Baltimore is a great offense. Avoid

Batter Grind Down

BAL – The BvP numbers do not favor the Orioles today, but I think they should have a good game against Masterson. Chris Davis is on another hot streak and is in play, Manny Machado continues to produce night in and night out, and I really like the lefty/righty matchup for Nick Markakis.

CLE – When it comes to the Indians offense, I am all about finding value because they are a very inconsistent bunch. If you can find guys that are cheap, maybe Nick Swisher or Mark Reynolds, I say take a shot on em.

What Vegas Says

Pitcher Grind Down

NYYHiroki Kuroda seems to be matchup-proof. Not only that, but he has been great at home this season with a 2.08 ERA and a 1.040 WHIP. On paper, this matchup isn’t great for Kuroda, especially considering the fact that he is an underdog, but I think he pitches well and is certainly in play on sites with more than one pitcher. In Play

TEX – If I had to pick a pitcher in this game, I would much rather take Kuroda. I think he has similar upside to Yu Darvish and is about 2/3’s of the price. The Yankees aren’t the best offense, but they are a tough team and Yu gives up runs. Avoid

Batter Grind Down

NYY – I don’t like the matchup for any individual batter on the Yankees, but as a group I think they get a hold of Yu tonight for a few runs.

TEX – Like I said above, I really think that Kuroda pitches well in this one and maybe even out pitches Yu. For that reason, I am staying away from Texas bats.

What Vegas Says

Pitcher Grind Down

TB – Matt Moore continues to disappoint and I continue to stay away from him. Until he can show me that consistency that he had early on in the season, I just don’t want to risk it. He’s given up 22 earned runs over his last 4 starts and has a tough matchup. Avoid

TORMark Buehrle is finally back to being a daily fantasy option again. He has had quality starts in four of his last five outings. I don’t love the matchup against the Rays though, they have too many solid bats throughout their lineup. Avoid

Batter Grind Down

TB – Hard to say which way to go on this one, Buehrle has been pitching better lately, but the Rays are a team that can really string runs together. With the addition of Wil Myers, this lineup is really tough to have a solid outing against. I think Longoria, Zobrist, Jennings, and Myers are all in play.

TOR – I may be in the minority here, but I am not a fan of Matt Moore at all tonight and I think taking a few Jays bats could really pay off. Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion, and J.P. Arencibia are all in play.
