MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, April 26

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

CheeseIsGood: Shohei Ohtani
squirrelpatrol: Shohei Ohtani
boggslite: Gunnar Henderson
ebeimfohr: Shohei Ohtani
Alex Sonty: Shohei Ohtani

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: There is a big top tier of pitchers, and despite the matchup, I just don’t think Corbin Burnes is enough better than the rest of them to warrant his likely ownership. I’ll use Zac Gallen as my primary pivot but also will have exposure to Chris Sale, Nathan Eovaldi, and Shota Imanaga up top. Where I’m not using Burnes, I’m less concerned about the mid-tier ownership, so I’ll side with Bailey Ober and also take some shots on the boom/bust Luis Gil in tournaments. The bats look extremely muddled, and I’ll be spreading out early and often. I guess the Braves and Dodgers lead the way, and at their salaries, I’m more apt to use one-off bats from those lineups, leaning towards other stacks, most notably the Yankees and Diamondbacks.

squirrelpatrol: Friday night brings a big 13-game slate, and with the different start times this season, it’s the biggest slate we’ve had in a while. That will make projected ownership more important, as ownership always consolidates around a few perceived top options. I’ll spread out my exposure among pitchers and stacks with upside in my multi-entry build, while for single entry, I’ll prioritize getting away from the highest-owned options.

boggslite: There’s a lot I like, but don’t love, which makes it difficult to narrow down. I will likely spread out my exposure to multiple stacks while doing my best to pay up for pitching. Corbin Burnes is my top overall option, and if I can’t pair him with Zac Gallen, then I will likely opt for some savings with a riskier option like Bailey Ober. This will likely be a popular combination, so I will differentiate my lineups with the bats that round out my stacks, as I don’t expect ownership to get out of hand in that regard.

ebeimfohr: There are a bunch of different offenses and stacks I want to attack, and there are not super-clear standouts. There’s no Coors Field, and the offenses projected for the highest ownership are not significantly greater than the offenses projecting for lesser ownership. So I will be looking to pivot on the hitter side. But I also think that you can get contrarian at pitcher as well. Corbin Burnes has not been the same strikeout pitcher for quite some time as his reputation may presume, so going off the board across your entire lineup is very viable for me.

Alex Sonty: There are tons of ways to attack this huge slate on DraftKings. I’m either double-stacking the Yankees and Dodgers bats with Luis Gil and Jose Butto or spending down to the Cubs to fit in two $9k pitchers. What I likely won’t be doing is combining an expensive pitcher with a cheap pitcher because that’s exactly what the field will be doing.

Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
