MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, September 9
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
SquirrelPatrol: Shohei Ohtani
headChopper: Jose Ramirez
ebeimfohr: Shohei Ohtani
TheLuuch: Shohei Ohtani
Who is your favorite hitter (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
SquirrelPatrol: Shohei Ohtani – They continued playing baseball this weekend despite the arrival of football, giving Ohtani the opportunity to hit 2 more HRs to bring his total to 46 for the year. He has the highest ISO in the majors this year vs. RHP at .393, with the next-closest hitter, Aaron Judge, at .357. Ohtani has added 46 SBs this year as well and is likely to keep adding to that total as he looks to be the first member of the 50/50 club.
headChopper: Shohei Ohtani – You just can’t get this kind of upside anywhere else in baseball right now. He’s en route to a 50/50 season with HRs and SBs, which is just hard to even fathom. He draws one of the best matchups on the board with a pitcher who is unable to generate any swings and misses in Kyle Hendricks (he is also prone to stolen bases). The Cubs pen behind him is also very exploitable, so I am finding the funds for Ohtani.

TheLuuch: Vladimir Guerrero – Paul Blackburn is an average pitcher who has struck out just 15% of hitters across the last 30 days. He’s also quite reverse-splitsy this season, allowing a .234 ISO and 10% barrel rate to righties. Vlad has a .282 ISO and 15% barrel rate vs. RHP across the last month. UPDATE – It looks like Tylor Megill will now start for the Mets. I still like Toronto as a low-owned stack, and this pitching change might be a slight bump to the Jays’ lefties.
