MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Sunday, May 5

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stlcardinals84: There is some good high-end pitching today, but I am taking a stand here. Freddy Peralta is the pitcher that I want. His stuff has been fantastic in 2024, and the walks are no longer an issue. Tarik Skubal and Nestor Cortes have major weather concerns, while I don’t trust the Joe Ryan chalk. Give me Peralta as the clear SP1 choice over the other three options.

Krayton: As much as I love Freddy Peralta today (similar to Tyler Glasnow yesterday), I still will be looking to get some lower-priced options, such as Garrett Crochet, Jon Gray, Hunter Brown, and Ryan Pepiot (DK) in my lineups. I have a lot of interest in Texas again today, and I like getting some savings at pitcher to afford some of the more expensive bats.

tcsmith031: The high-end pitching looks fabulous, but there are enough viable cheap pitchers out there to make casting a wide net a viable approach to tournaments today. Fully punting with Bailey Falter against the lowly Rockies is intriguing, while Garrett Crochet, Jon Gray, Hunter Brown, and even Ryan Feltner are likely to crack my GPP player pool.

TJ Zwarych: Freddy Peralta and Joe Ryan are fantastic, and although I’ll try to get even with the field, my priority for tournaments is to be overweight on the likes of Ryan Pepiot, Bailey Falter, and Garrett Crochet.

Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Epignosis
Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
