MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, July 2

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

CheeseIsGood: Shohei Ohtani
SquirrelPatrol: Shohei Ohtani
stevietpfl: Shohei Ohtani
boggslite: Shohei Ohtani
eys819: Shohei Ohtani

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: With the salaries being so extreme, I don’t really think the Brewers come in as mega chalk, but they should still be at the top of the board, and I’m more than happy to fade them even as just moderate chalk. I much prefer the individual spend-up bats for the Yankees and Dodgers, and then the stacking list goes pretty deep with teams who should be completely off the radar. My lean is to stack cheaper teams and/or bottom-of-the-order bats so that I can use my one-offs with guys like Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, and Yordan Alvarez. On the pitching side, I’ll look to get ahead of the field on Dylan Cease and probably Grayson Rodriguez, but I’ll also have a lot of Mitch Spence and Simeon Woods Richardson in order to fit in those expensive bats.

SquirrelPatrol: I’ll spend up for hitting. Not necessarily on the Brewers in Coors Field but on some of the other top spots for offense. The PHI/CHC game and the TB/KC game both look like promising spots for both sides if the wind and weather cooperate. The Rockies are also looking to be under-owned in Coors, and they came in as just the 4th-highest-owned stack yesterday (out of 6 teams) despite a high implied run total. I’ll spread out my exposure at pitching and rotate through a few of the very cheap options who have strikeout upside.

stevietpfl: With an 11-game slate like this, I think the hitting ownership is going to be spread out, so I’m not worried about the ownership of the hitters I like. I’m going to be playing the Phillies, Brewers, Cubs, and Dodgers. I’m going to be overweight on Grayson Rodriguez, Dylan Cease, and Tarik Skubal. I’ll be underweight on Luis Gil and George Kirby.

boggslite: As much as I like paying up for pitching, this slate favors hitting, which will lead us to finding some savings at pitcher, especially on 2-pitcher sites. Upside is generally limited from cheaper SPs, but targeting Mitch Spence opens up a lot of salary on a night where multiple offenses should be expected to score a bunch of runs.

eys819: Projected ownership looks to be pretty spread out among both pitchers and hitters. I will aim to be overweight on Grayson Rodriguez, Dylan Cease, Tarik Skubal, and Simeon Woods Richardson. The pitchers I am most likely to have less exposure to than the field include Luis Gil and George Kirby. Brewers, Dodgers, Phillies, Yankees, Rockies, and Cubs will be my highest-owned stacks.

Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
