MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, May 14

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

CheeseIsGood: Jose Altuve
squirrelpatrol: Elly De La Cruz
stevietpfl: Elly De La Cruz
boggslite: Jeremy Pena
eys819: Elly De La Cruz

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: Dylan Cease is a ‘Don’t Overthink It’ for me. With so many ways to get different on the hitting side, I don’t see the need to go off the board at pitcher. On the offensive side, I am mostly going to stack cheaper teams while using the high-end one-offs from expensive teams, like the Dodgers, Braves, Astros, Rangers, etc. I will also have quite a few lineups where I don’t have full stacks, which will get me different from the field in those chalky-pitcher builds.

squirrelpatrol: All season, I’ve advocated for spending down at pitcher, but I’ll at least aim to match the field on Dylan Cease tonight, with his projection and matchup standing out among the other top pitchers at not much more salary. For offense, I’ll aim to be overweight some of the teams with power and speed, prioritizing road teams in good hitting ballparks.

stevietpfl: I’m going to spend up for pitching as much as possible. On DraftKings, I will be making a group of Dylan Cease, Sonny Gray, Chris Sale, and Ronel Blanco. I will set that group to 1-2 and make sure I have at least one of them on all 20 lineups that I build. For hitting, I think ownership is going to be spread out, so I’m going to play the bats I like. I will be overweight on the Reds, Diamondbacks, Brewers, Astros, Padres, and Dodgers.

boggslite: I’ll be doing everything I can to pay up for pitching, starting with Dylan Cease, who is priced appropriately, in my opinion, given his matchup. This will have me looking to some cheaper stacks and taking advantage of the value bats that become available as lineups are released.

eys819: Dylan Cease is a priority given his matchup with the Rockies, and I want significantly more exposure than the field. Nick Pivetta, Michael Wacha, and Chris Paddack will be other pitchers I have plenty of exposure to as SP2 on DK. Like yesterday, there is no obvious offense, and I will spread out my exposure. The Astros, Brewers, Reds, and Guardians will be among my highest-owned stacks.

Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
