MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, April 15

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

squirrelpatrol: Ronald Acuna
headChopper: Ronald Acuna
ebeimfohr: Mookie Betts
eys819: Mookie Betts

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

squirrelpatrol: I’ll prioritize spending up for hitters over spending up for Tyler Glasnow, but I’ll be nervous about it. So far this season, I think the power and speed bats have been more consistent than pitching, but things can go wrong if Glasnow notches another 14-K performance. I’m willing to risk that won’t happen again facing a Nationals team that is in the bottom third of the league in K%.

headChopper: Overweight on Frankie Montas, Seth Lugo, and a couple of other high-variance guys while being underweight on Tyler Glasnow. With the hitters, it looks like full stacks 100% today, but I’ll be underweight on some popular options, like Atlanta, while being overweight on underappreciated teams, like Kansas City and San Diego.

ebeimfohr: My general strategy for MLB right now is definitely applicable to this slate – being willing to be different at pitcher to afford the premium bats in the best spots. The field is still really keen on spending up for the best pitchers, and that should be the case again tonight with a pretty weak pitching pool. But my bet for this season is on pitchers rarely separating themselves to a degree in which you “need” their score to win, even though someone like Tyler Glasnow is fully capable. So I’m taking on a bit more risk at pitcher to get over the field on the elite and more expensive stacks that also come in lower owned with everyone spending up on pitching.

eys819: Their are at least 3 elite offenses (Dodgers, Braves, Astros) in elite spots against inexperienced pitchers. The Royals are in a similar spot and have been a top-10 offense in the early part of the season, but they will also be popular, and I’m not sure I’m buying them as top 10 for the season. I want to prioritize those 3 offenses that I know are elite. That means I probably don’t get to Tyler Glasnow as often as the field, and George Kirby ends up my highest-owned pitcher. I will also have more exposure to Luis Gil and Frankie Montas than the field.

Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
