Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS Picks Today for Wednesday 4/1

Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS picks

Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks today. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the April 1, 2026 MLB DFS slate.

Happy Wednesday! We have a very early start, with some absolutely loaded pitching options on both sites. DK and FD both have 10-game main slates, though they start at different times with 3 games different on each site. The DK slate starts at 12:15 PM ET, while FD waits 1:05 PM ET. That 50-minute window seems like lunch time! There are a couple of games with some MLB weather concerns: PIT/CIN and NYM/STL. I’m going to include those games for now, but keep any eye on those two before locking anything in. It’s early, so let’s dive right in.

Wednesday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings

Gausman of the Blue Jays

I have an amazing Kenny Bania level joke for you to start.

Boy, the pitching is terrible today, terrible I tell you. April Fool’s. That’s gold Jerry, gold!

(This is what happens when I get up at 5:00 AM to Muse for a slate that is way too early.)

Combining the talent with the matchups, this is one of the best pitching slates I’ve ever seen. Even with just the three different games, there are massive differences between the sites, most notably with Chris Sale being only on DK and Tarik Skubal being only on FD.

ELITE ACES EVERYWHERE

I guess the first thing I want to note here is that DK has really bunched up the salaries such that pricing barely matters. But FD has the top three aces up near $11,000, while all of these other names are down between $8,500-$9,800.

With this many aces, I am going to make a few quick cuts just to make it a more manageable size. The first will be Paul Skenes. I’m not overly concerned about the bad first start, and he’ll be fine. But that also means he is not stretched out, and his game has the most concerning weather on the slate in a bad ballpark, so he’s an easy pass.

My next cut will be Nathan Eovaldi, who is on the DK slate. He is a great real-life pitcher – and a perfectly good DFS pitcher too – I’m simply not going to try and play everyone today. Eovaldi has a lot of power risk in his matchup and barely any discount from several pitchers that I simply like better.

I’m also going to cut Freddy Peralta on DK, where his salary is not anything useful, and this is also a game where the weather has some question. I may come back to him for FD MME at his lower salary, but we’ll see what happens.

On FD, I’m going to cut George Kirby for basically the same reason as Eovaldi. He’s great – there are just too many options with more upside and better matchups, so he’s going to miss the cut.

OK, I want to start with who I consider to be the best of the best among elite options, which would be these four: Tarik Skubal, Chris Sale, Garrett Crochet, Cristopher Sanchez. But with the matchup and the salary, I think we need to look at Kevin Gausman first so we can compare those other aces to him.
