Pitcher Grind Down
- Justin Masterson – Masterson appears to have righted the ship. He has looked great in each of his last two starts, one of which was against this Red Sox team. That said, it’s hard to expect a repeat performance out of him tonight, especially with this game being played in Fenway. He does make a great tournament play though. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6900 FD, $12135 DS, $12400 DD, $6800 DK, $76800 FF, $18800 SS, $12400 FTD
- John Lackey – Lackey has been very solid at Fenway over the last two seasons. He pitched pretty well against this Indians’ lineup the last time that he faced them. While I like him a bit more than Mastreson tonight, this is an Indians’ lineup that is ranked 3rd against RH pitching this season. Rating = 5
Salaries: $8400 FD, $17954 DS, $16350 DD, $9700 DK, $110400 FF, $24500 SS, $16350 FTD

Cleveland
Lonnie Chisenhall – Much like Dickerson on Colorado, I keep targeting Chisenhall against RH pitching. He has a .438 wOBA against RH pitching this season and is a nice salary cap relief option at 3B.
Additional Plays: Jason Kipnis, Michael Brantley
Boston
David Ortiz – Ortiz homered again last night and draws a nice matchup against Masterson who has always struggled with LHB’s.
Additional Plays: Brock Holt, Grady Sizemore

Pitcher Grind Down
- C.J. Wilson – Wilson is an interesting tournament play tonight because he always pitches deep into games and he is facing the strikeout happy Braves. He may be a bit too risky for cash games though as this Braves’ offense has a lot of pop, especially against LH pitching (ranked 2nd in baseball). Rating = 6
Salaries: $8300 FD, $15945 DS, $18350 DD, $10700 DK, $102900 FF, $27200 SS, $18350 FTD
- Aaron Harang – Harang has cooled off after the hot start to the season, but he still owns a 3.33 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP and a K/9 of 8.9. He draws a tough matchup against the Angels though as they are ranked 8th against RH pitching this season. There are better options at his price point. Rating = 5
Salaries: $6600 FD, $13787 DS, $14500 DD, $8400 DK, $76000 FF, $20800 SS, $15050 FTD
Batter Grind Down
LA Angels
Josh Hamtilton – J-Ham should be in the lineup tonight against the RHP Harang. Hamilton has a .432 wOBA against RH pitching this season.
Additional Plays: Mike Trout
Atlanta
Evan Gattis – Gattis got the day off yesterday, but should be back in the lineup tonight against the LHP Wilson. Gattis has been crushing LH pitching this season to a tune of a .630 wOBA.
Additional Plays: B.J. Upton, Chris Johnson

Pitcher Grind Down
- Alex Cobb – Cobb has given up 16 earned runs in his last 3 starts which is a bit concerning. While he is facing a strikeout happy Astros’ offense, they have been scoring runs in bunches with both of their rookies playing some great baseball. He has nice upside, but is probably a better GPP play than a cash game play tonight. Rating = 6
Salaries: $7500 FD, $16534 DS, $12850 DD, $8000 DK, $88600 FF, $20200 SS, $12850 FTD
- Collin McHugh – McHugh has had a terrific season. He is sporting a 2.82 ERA with a 1.03 WHIP and a K/9 of 10.0. His price has started to come up across the industry, but he is still an affordable option for the type of upside that he provides. rating = 5
Salaries: $7000 FD, $16497 DS, $18900 DD, $10500 DK, $46100 FF, $25400 SS, $19150 FTD

Tampa Bay
There really aren’t any great options here. McHugh has held both LHB’s and RHB’s under a .285 wOBA this season.
Houston
George Springer – Springer has as much upside as almost any player in baseball. He has shown his ability to have multi-HR games and he is catching Cobb at a nice time as Cobb has really struggled in his last 3 starts.
Additional Plays: Jose Altuve, Jon Singleton
Kansas City at Chicago White Sox

Pitcher Grind Down
- Jeremy Guthrie – Guthrie is not a great fantasy option. He is averaging just over 4 strikeouts per 9 innings which really limits his upside. He has always struggled against LHB’s and should be avoided tonight against the White Sox who are ranked 7th against RH pitching this season. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5300 FD, $8869 DS, $9400 DD, $6500 DK, $64200 FF, $14400 SS, $9150 FTD
- Jose Quintana – Quintana has a decent matchup tonight against the Royals who are ranked 23rd against LH pitching. The problem is that the Royals only strike out at a 15% clip against LH pitching which is the lowest in baseball. If you are looking for a cheap option on multi-pitcher sites, he is in play, but temper your expectations. Rating = 5
Salaries: $6000 FD, $12439 DS, $13300 DD, $7600 DK, $76800 FF, $17700 SS, $13300 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Kansas City
Alcides Escobar – Escobar is such a tough customer at the plate. He really makes pitchers work to get him out. On the season he has a .387 wOBA against LH pitching and offers a nice value play at SS.
Additional Plays: Lorenzo Cain, Salvador Perez
Chicago White Sox
Adam Eaton – Target the LHB’s in this lineup. Guthrie has given up a .346 wOBA to LHB’s this season. Eaton, Gillaspie, and Dunn all look like nice cheap plays here at their respective positions.
Additional Plays: Jose Abreu, Conor Gillaspie, Adam Dunn

Pitcher Grind Down
- Homer Bailey – Bailey looks like he is finally turning his season around. He has provided quality fantasy outings in each of his last 3 starts. While he has a tough matchup against the Brewers in the hitter-friendly Miller Park, I think he makes a terrific play on a couple of sites where his salary is still depressed. Rating = 6
Salaries: $8400 FD, $14445 DS, $14600 DD, $8300 DK, $103400 FF, $22300 SS, $14600 FTD
- Matt Garza – Garza also appears to be rounding into form. He has 8+ strikeouts in two of his last three starts and gets to face a Reds’ offense that is only ranked 23rd against RH pitching this season. Bailey and Garza both have similar upside, so target the cheaper of the two on the site that you are playing on. Rating = 6
Salaries: $6900 FD, $15198 DS, $14350 DD, $8500 DK, $80200 FF, $22900 SS, $14350 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Cincinnati
Joey Votto – With a few games under his belt since coming back from injury, Votto should be close to 100%. He has a nice matchup against the RHP Garza who has given up a .349 wOBA to LHB’s this season.
Additional Plays: Billy Hamilton, Jay Bruce
Milwaukee
Ryan Braun – Much like his name suggests, Homer has had trouble keeping the ball inside the park. He has already given up 11 HR’s this season in only 13 starts. Braun already has 1 HR off of Bailey in his career and has a good chance for another tonight in the HR-friendly Miller Park.
Additional Plays: Jonathan Lucroy, Carlos Gomez
