Pitcher Grind Down
Jordan Zimmermann – Zimmermann struggled a bit at the start of the season, but has pitched really well in his last 3 starts and has his ERA under 3.00 now. Zimmermann is also averaging over 1 K per inning pitched this season. Tonight he faces a tough D-Backs lineup in the very hitter-friendly Chase Field. I think he pitches well, but will only be using him as a GPP play. Rating = 6
Josh Collmenter – Collmenter has a 3.44 ERA on the season with a 1.27 WHIP and a K/9 of 6.0. He is one of those pitchers whose numbers look good, but we seem to have a hard time trusting him as a starting pitcher in daily fantasy baseball. The Nationals are below average against RH pitching, but I will not be using Collmenter in my cash games tonight. Rating = 5
Batter Grind Down
Washington
Ian Desmond – With LaRoche and Harper both out of this lineup, we could see Desmond batting clean-up tonight against Collmenter. He can hit RH and LH pitching well and makes a great value play at SS in the hitter friendly Chase Field.
Additional Plays: Denard Span
Arizona
Paul Goldschmidt – I think there are better options at 1B for cash games, but you can never rule out Goldy in GPP’s, especially when he is playing in a hitter friendly ballpark. Goldschmidt is batting .333 at Chase Field this season with 11 of his 25 hits going for extra bases.
Additional Plays: Miguel Montero

Pitcher Grind Down
John Danks – Danks is coming off of a decent start against the Cubs, but he had to pitch out of trouble in almost every inning. He has an ERA close to 5.00 this season with a 1.47 WHIP. Tonight he faces an A’s lineup that is ranked 7th against RH pitching (.331 team wOBA). Danks is a below average fantasy option tonight. Rating = 4
Jesse Chavez – If you look at Chavez’s last 7 starts, he has been excellent, but he’s given up at least 3 earned runs in 2 of his last 3 starts and is still largely unproven. He is a high strikeout pitcher that should get plenty of run support tonight. The only issue that I have here is his opponent. The White Sox are ranked 3rd against RH pitching this season. On a night with little pitching options, he’s obviously in play, but I’m going to temper my expectations. Rating = 7
Batter Grind Down
Chicago White Sox
The White Sox are big underdogs in this game that features a total of only 7.5 runs. There aren’t any White Sox batters that stand out as great fantasy plays tonight.
Oakland
Yoenis Cespedes – Cespedes has a terrific matchup tonight against Danks who is giving up a .777 OPS to RH batters this season. Not only that, but Cespedes has a .937 OPS against LH pitching. He has the splits in his favor and is one of my favorite plays in the OF tonight.
Additional Plays: Josh Donaldson, Derek Norris, Jed Lowrie

Pitcher Grind Down
Tom Koehler – Koehler has really pitched well this season with a 1.99 ERA and a WHIP under 1.00. I just don’t see him being able to keep up these numbers over the course of the season and we could start to see him crack tonight against the Dodgers who are ranked 4th against RH pitching this season (.333 team wOBA). Rating = 4
Dan Haren – Haren has yet to give up more than 3 earned runs in any start this season which is a far cry from where he was over the last 2 seasons. Haren has been able to keep the ball in the yard. He has an ERA under 3.00 with a K/9 of 7.5. He has a great matchup against the Marlins who have a .279 wOBA on the road with an insane 29.9 K%. Dollar for dollar, Haren is my top pitcher tonight. Rating = 8
Batter Grind Down
Miami
Giancarlo Stanton – Much like Goldschmidt, I think Stanton is always in play in GPP’s. Haren has been known to give up the long ball and we all know the type of power that Stanton has in that bat. I’ll be using Haren in my cash games, but will throw Stanton in on a few GPP lineups.
Additional Plays: None
L.A. Dodgers
Dee Gordon – Gordon is basically Billy Hamilton 2.0. He already has 24 SB’s this season. He’s batting .375 against RH pitching and seems to be a lock to steal 2nd (sometimes 3rd too) every time that he gets on first base. I love him at 2B tonight.
Additional Plays: Adrian Gonzalez, Yasiel Puig, Hanley Ramirez

Pitcher Grind Down
Cesar Ramos – Ramos has a 2.96 ERA on the season with a 1.25 WHIP. The issue here is that he doesn’t pitch deep into games as he is averaging less than 5 IP’s in his starts this season. He will also have a tough time with run support tonight as King Felix is starting for the Mariners. Rating = 3
Felix Hernandez – King Felix has been good this season, but he hasn’t been great. His ERA is under 3.00 and he’s averaging slightly more than a K per inning. His biggest issue thus far has been his command. He has uncharacteristically walked 8 batters over his last 3 starts which has really hurt his pitch count. If he can correct that, he will get back to being the dominant Felix that we have been accustomed to. He’s the top overall pitching option tonight, but you will have to pay up for him. Rating = 9
Batter Grind Down
Tampa Bay
Avoid all Rays bats tonight against King Felix. They will likely have more K’s than baserunners which typically doesn’t bode well for fantasy production.
Seattle
Kyle Seager – Ramos is giving up a .693 OPS to LH batters this season and Seager is really starting to heat up. Even though this is a lefty/lefty matchup, Seager has really been producing over the last 10 games and is cheap across the industry.
Additional Plays: Robinson Cano, Corey Hart

Pitcher Grind Down
Gavin Floyd – Floyd pitched a lot better than I was expecting him to in his first start of the season. He threw 7 strong innings against the Cardinals while only giving up 6 hits and 1 earned run. Tonight he faces a Giants offense that is ranked 25th against RH pitching this season and he gets to face them in the pitcher friendly AT&T Park. He is flying under the radar tonight, but I think he is a much better play than his counterpart Lincecum. Rating = 6
Tim Lincecum – Lincecum is not going to find his way onto any of my cash game lineups anytime soon. He has a 5.55 ERA with a 1.73 WHIP this season and he’s given up at least 9 baserunners in each of his last 4 starts. The Braves are a team that strikes out often though so he could be worth a look as a GPP play. Rating = 5
Batter Grind Down
Atlanta
Jason Heyward – Heyward has good numbers off of Lincecum in his career. He is 7/16 against him and has also drawn 5 walks. Heyward has good speed and good power and his price across the industry is depressed. It’s a great time to buy low on the talented leadoff hitter.
Additional Plays: Freddie Freeman, Justin Upton, Evan Gattis
San Francisco
Buster Posey – Posey is never a bad option at Catcher. He is a very productive fantasy player that rarely has those games where he scores 0 or negative fantasy points. He has a decent matchup against Floyd who gave up a .334 wOBA to RH batters last season.
Additional Plays: Hunter Pence
