Pitcher Grind Down
Edwin Jackson – Jackson has been up and down so far on the season resulting in a 4.57 ERA and 1.45 WHIP. He has struggled getting LH bats out, which should cause trouble against the likes of Freeman and Heyward today. Jackson is coming off his best start of the season in which he gave up 1 earned run and had 9 strike outs, but this could be an outlier in his numbers, especially the K’s. Rating = 3
Aaron Harang – Harang bounced back from his first rough outing of the season to allow 2 earned runs off of 9 hits against the Cardinals. Prior to his implosion against Miami, Harang had been on an unbelievable run of 3 earned runs in 6 starts. No one believes that he can keep this up for the season, but he is one of the biggest favorites on the board today and gets the Cubs bats. Rating = 7
Batter Grind Down
Chicago Cubs
Anthony Rizzo – Rizzo is really the only Cubs bat I would think about targeting today. Rizzo is hitting RH pitching well this year and is leading this Cubs team in the power categories. Harang has pitched so surprisingly well this year, so I would make Rizzo a GPP only play.
Atlanta
Freddie Freeman – It is not the biggest sample size in the world, but it is really tough to ignore the fact that Freeman is 7 for 11 with 2 home runs against Jackson. Add this to the fact that Jackson gives up a wOBA of.366 to LH bats and we have a great play here.
- Additional Plays: Jason Heyward

Pitcher Grind Down
Josh Tomlin – Tomlin looked good in his first start of the season against Minnesota. We have seen very little of Tomlin over the last two years, but has a career 4.86 ERA with a 2.91 K/9. Until we see a bit more from him, I think he should be avoided in all leagues today. Rating = 3
Chris Archer – Archer has not had the start of the season that the Rays thought they would get out of the young righty. He is really struggling of late with a 6.86 ERA and 1.60 WHIP in his last 3 starts. Archer is allowing opponents to hit .280 against him so far on the season and will be facing a number of good LH bats today. Archer should be avoided until he can get out of this poor stretch recently. Rating = 4*
Batter Grind Down
Cleveland
Nick Swisher – Swisher has been struggling this season, but still hits high in this Cleveland lineup. With how Archer has been pitching recently, a lot of the Cleveland bats are in play and Swisher is a nice cheap option.
- Additional Plays: Carlos Santana Yan Gomes
Tampa Bay
Matt Joyce – Joyce makes a great cash game play today as he should hit in the 3rd spot in the lineup against a RH pitcher that we don’t have too much recent information on. Joyce continues to hit RH pitching well for .318 AVG and literally has all of hits against them.
- Additional Plays: Ben Zobrist

Pitcher Grind Down
David Phelps – Phelps is coming off his first start of the season against the Angels in which he went 5.1 innings with 1 earned run. He has been good this season, mostly in relief, with a 3.19 ERA and over a 10 K/9. He was pulled after only 87 pitches in his first start, so keep you expectations realistic for Phelps today. Rating = 5
Matt Garza – Garza has yet to turn that corner this season and continues to have sub par performances. He holds a 4.93 ERA, more than a full run higher than his career average. Garza has a tough matchup against this lefty filled lineup of the Yanks today. Rating = 2
Batter Grind Down
New York Yankees
Jacoby Ellsbury – Garza is giving up a .332 wOBA to left handed bats and Ellsbury has hit Garza well in his career. Ellsbury has cooled off a bit in the last week and a half which has dropped his price to a point where he makes a great cash game play.
- Additional Plays: Carlos Beltran Mark Teixeira Brett Gardner
Milwaukee
Carlos Gomez – Gomez is such a great type of player for daily fantasy purpose. He can hit for power, average and steal some bases as well. He is currently hitting RH pitching for .303 and 6 home runs on the season.
Additional Plays: Jonathan Lucroy

Pitcher Grind Down
Chase Anderson – Anderson will be getting the call up for the Diamondbacks on Sunday. Anderson has been in Double-A this season and has put up a 0.69 earned run average with 38 strike outs in 39 innings. Impressive numbers, but a wait and see approach may be necessary as he is taking on the White Sox offense that can put some runs on the board. Rating = 4
Hector Noesi – Noesi has made 2 starts and 6 relief appearances on the season. This has resulted in a terrible 8.27 ERA and 1.65 WHIP and has allowed opponents to hit .333 against him. On top of that, he is not going to be a high pitch count at all. He should be avoided. Rating = 2
Batter Grind Down
Arizona
Miguel Montero – Montero has hit RH pitching very well this season for a .303 AVG and .506 SLG. Hitting in the cleanup role against Noesi should allow for a few RBI chances today. This game has the highest over/under on the day and Montero should benefit.
- Additional Plays: Gerardo Parra Paul Goldschimdt Martin Prado
Chicago White Sox
Gordon Beckham – Gordon is back and hitting leadoff in this White Sox lineup. He is extremely low priced, but beginning to rise as Beckham has gotten on base in 14 straight games.
- Additional Plays: Alejandro De Aza Conor Gillaspie Jose Abreu

Pitcher Grind Down
John Lackey – Lackey has been very good other than two clunkers in a row against good Baltimore and Yankee lineups. He has posted a 3.72 ERA overall with an 8.41 K/9. Even though Lackey has ben good, he has to go to a hitter friendly park in Texas in a game that has a 9.5 total. This makes him tough to spend the salary on today. Rating = 5
Robbie Ross – After having a good start early on in the season, Ross has been awful as of late. He has given up 18 runs in his last 4 starts giving him a May ERA of over 10. The problem is Ross is giving up a lot of hits to RH bats and Boston has the 5th most Runs scored against LH pitching. Rating = 2
Batter Grind Down
Boston
Dustin Pedroia – Pedroia is abut as consistent as they come for cash games and he continues to get on base. His numbers against LH pitching are down a bit this year, but has always crushed it in his career. Ross has been struggling and Boston should be one of the higher scoring offenses of the day.
- Additional Plays: Mike Napoli Jonny Gomes Xander Bogaerts David Ortiz Shane Victorino
Texas
Alex Rios – Lackey’s struggles so far this year have been against the RH bats. He is allowing them to bat a surprisingly high .318 against him and .819 OPS. Rios continues to hit for average and should be a good cash game play today.
- Additional Plays: Prince Fielder
