Pitcher Grind Down
- Erasmo Ramirez – Ramirez was sent down to Triple-A after getting off to a rocky start this season. The Mariners are hoping that Ramirez can get some confidence back. In these situations, I always like to take a wait and see approach. I will continue to avoid Ramirez until he gives me a reason to do otherwise. Rating = 3
Salaries: $4900 FD, $12780 DS, $11200 DD, $5500 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Gavin Floyd – Floyd should be one of the more popular value options at SP tonight. On the season he has a 2.37 ERA, a 1.36 WHIP, and 27 K’s over 30 innings of work. He is a nice favorite against the Mariners who are ranked 25th against RH pitching. I would like him more if Robinson Cano was still out, but he’s still a solid play tonight. Rating = 7
Salaries: $6000 FD, $14353 DS, $11650 DD, $8000 DK, $62200 FF, $20600 SS, $9900 FTD

Seattle
Kyle Seager – Seager was my top play at 3B yesterday and he really paid off with a HR and 2 triples. Seager has a .394 wOBA against RH pitching this season and will likely fly under the radar with all of the other 3B options on the board.
Additional Plays: Michael Saunders
Atlanta
Justin Upton – This is a terrific spot for the Braves. Ramirez has given up a .339+ wOBA to both LHB’s and RHB’s this season. Upton isn’t quite up to Tulo’s standards in terms of hitting at home, but he has an incredible .535 wOBA at Turner Field this season. He is my top OF tonight.
Additional Plays: Jason Heyward, Freddie Freeman, Evan Gattis

Pitcher Grind Down
- Tim Lincecum – Lincecum continues to have 30 pitch innings that hurt his fantasy value, but he has actually pitched pretty well this season. He has a 4.18 ERA with a 1.55 WHIP and a K/9 of 9.2. Vegas has tonight’s game against the Reds set as a pick ‘em game and as always, Lincecum makes a nice GPP play. For the price I think there are better options for cash games though. Rating = 5
Salaries: $7100 FD, $14356 DS, $14750 DD, $9000 DK, $89300 FF, $22800 SS, $12800 FTD
- Homer Bailey – Bailey’s struggles this season are well documented, but he’s coming off of a nice outing against a tough Dodgers’ lineup and I think he is finally turning a corner. His biggest issue has been keeping the ball in the park. I think he’s able to do that tonight against the Giants who are below average offensively against RH pitching. I’m buying low on Bailey tonight, especially on multi-pitcher sites. Rating = 7
Salaries: $7900 FD, $13224 DS, $14000 DD, $7600 DK, $83700 FF, $19600 SS, $12700 FTD
Batter Grind Down
San Francisco
Pablo Sandoval – Pablo has struggled against LH pitching this season, but has a .350 wOBA against righties. Bailey has given up a .357 wOBA to LHB’s this season and has already given up 10 HR’s.
Additional Plays: Buster Posey
Cincinnati
Devin Mesoraco – Mesoraco has shown incredible power this season. He has a .472 wOBA against RH pitching and draws a nice matchup against Lincecum who has given up a .332 wOBA to RHB’s.
Additional Plays: Todd Frazier, Jay Bruce

Pitcher Grind Down
- James Shields – Shields had a rough outing in Toronto against the Blue Jays, but that’s a common theme with starting pitchers these days. Tonight he travels to St. Louis to take on the Cardinals who are ranked 14th against RH pitching. Shields has a high K/9 of 7.8. Rating = 6
Salaries: $8600 FD, $16325 DS, $17150 DD, $9300 DK, $94100 FF, $25000 SS, $14900 FTD
- Jaime Garcia – Garcia has pitched well this season with a 4.12 ERA, a 0.83 WHIP, and 19 K’s over 19 innings of work. This Royals’ offense strikes out fewer times than any team in baseball, but they are also only ranked 25th against LH pitching this season. I don’t mind the matchup, but I think he is a bit overpriced on most sites (with the exception of FD) considering his limited upside tonight. Rating = 5
Salaries: $5700 FD, $16505 DS, $13200 DD, $9200 DK, $90600 FF, $24300 SS, $10600 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Kansas City
Lorenzo Cain – Cain makes a nice value play tonight. He has 13 hits over his last 8 games and has really hit LH pitching well this season with a .417 wOBA.
Additional Plays: Salvador Perez, Alcides Escobar
St. Louis
Yadier Molina – Even though Shields is a RHP, he has given up a higher wOBA to RHB’s than he has to LHB’s. Molina has a .353 wOBA against RH pitching this season and is one of the few reliable options at Catcher.
Additional Plays: Matt Carpenter

Pitcher Grind Down
- Ubaldo Jimenez – Ubaldo has shown flashes of brilliance this season, but he has also really struggled at times. On the season he has a 4.65 ERA with a K/9 of 8.6. While his price is attractive, the matchup makes Ubaldo an easy avoid tonight. The total of this game is set at 9.5 runs which is a little too high for my tastes when it comes to starting pitching. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6300 FD, $11027 DS, $11900 DD, $8200 DK, $72200 FF, $20700 SS, $12700 FTD
- Joe Saunders – There are going to be very few instances when I will recommend taking Saunders and this is not one of them. This game will be played in Globe Life Park which is a very generous hitter’s park. Not only that, but he faced an Orioles’ offense that is packed with powerful hitters (Davis, Cruz, Jones). Rating = 3
Salaries: $5000 FD, $11600 DS, $8300 DD, $6100 DK, $49400 FF, $13000 SS, $11000 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Baltimore
Adam Jones / Nelson Cruz – There aren’t many teams with 2 batters that have a .530+ wOBA against LH pitching. Jones and Cruz have both been crushing righties all season long and both are top plays tonight against Saunders who has given up a .414 wOBA to RHB’s. This is a dream wOBA matchup for both Jones and Cruz.
Additional Plays: Manny Machado
Texas
Shin-Soo Choo – Choo has a .359 wOBA against RH pitching this season. He is a nice source of both speed and power. Ubaldo has been prone to blowup outings this season and this could be one of them tonight against the Rangers.
Additional Plays: Adrian Beltre, Leonys Martin

Pitcher Grind Down
- Zack Wheeler – Wheeler is coming off of one of his best starts of the season. He struck out 9 batters in 6 innings of work against the Phillies. Tonight he travels to Chicago to take on the Cubs who are ranked 28th against RH pitching with a 22.5 K-percentage. There are safer SP options, but I do like the upside here. Use him as a GPP play. Rating = 6
Salaries: $7000 FD, $15223 DS, $13500 DD, $7600 DK, $76500 FF, $21000 SS, $12400 FTD
- Jake Arrieta – Arrieta has pitched well for the Cubbies. He has a 3.20 ERA on the season with a K/9 of 9.4. Tonight he faces a Mets’ offense that is ranked 27th against RH pitching this season. With the way both of these teams hit RH pitching, this game could actually end up being a pitcher’s duel. Rating = 6
Salaries: $5600 FD, $12777 DS, $11000 DD, $7100 DK, $75400 FF, $17600 SS, $11600 FTD
Batter Grind Down
NY Mets
Curtis Granderson – Granderson is my lone BvP play of the day. He is 7/20 off of Arrieta in his career with 3 HR’s. Granderson has always had nice power against RH pitching and his numbers this season are slowly getting better.
Additional Plays: Daniel Murphy, David Wright
Chicago Cubs
Anthony Rizzo – Rizzo has actually fared better against LH pitching this season, but he has been no slouch against RH pitching either. On the season he has a .359 wOBA against RH pitching. He’s the top play here as Wheeler has given up a .359 wOBA to LHB’s this season.
Additional Plays: Starlin Castro, Luis Valbuena
