MLB Player Props Today

Ketel Marte o1.5 Total Bases (+105), BetMGM

Ketel Marte hits both right- and left-handed pitching well, but he is at his best against southpaws. This summer, Marte had an .879 OPS and a 138 wRC+ against left-handed pitching. Despite having fewer than half as many plate appearances against left-handed pitching, Marte had only two fewer doubles and three fewer triples than he did against right-handed pitching. The only thing that Marte loses against left-handed pitching is his home run potential, with only five dingers in 199 plate appearances. His gap-to-gap power and elite bat-to-ball skills still give him a good chance to cash this play anyway.

Christian Walker o1.5 Total Bases (+125), BetMGM

During the regular season, Christian Walker exhibited far more power potential against southpaws than he did against right-handed pitching. Facing southpaws, he had a .922 OPS, 141 wRC, and a .319 ISO. Despite having fewer than a quarter of his total plate appearances against left-handed pitching this year, Walker hit 13 of his 33 home runs with a favorable platoon matchup. At plus money, this is a worthwhile risk on Saturday evening.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Jordan Montgomery More Than 15.5 Outs Recorded, PrizePicks

Nathan Eovaldi had his worst start of the postseason yesterday, which forced Manager Bruce Bochy to dip into his bullpen much earlier than he would have liked. As a result, Dane Dunning, Cody Bradford, Jon Gray, Will Smith, and Jose Leclerc were each forced into action, with Leclerc throwing 26 pitches across two frames. Though Aroldis Chapman and Josh Sborz were saved from being used, it certainly elongates the bridge to the high-leverage relievers in the Rangers bullpen on Saturday unless Montgomery is able to get deep into the ballgame. Bochy has severe distrust in everyone in his arm barn other than Leclerc, Chapman, and Sborz, which makes it likely that he rides Montgomery as long as he can in Game 2.
