MLB Player Props Today

Editor’s Note: James Outman is not in the starting lineup tonight

Sean Murphy to Hit a Home Run (+350), FanDuel

Entering play on Tuesday, Carlos Carrasco has allowed at least one home run in five of his six starts in 2022. Five of the six home runs that he has allowed this season have been to right-handed batters, making Ronald Acuna, Austin Riley, Marcell Ozuna, and Sean Murphy each targetable options in this matchup. Murphy is likely the best selection for bettors when factoring in market price. Murphy owns a .909 OPS and a .246 ISO against right-handed pitching in 2023, making him a threat to leave the yard on a nightly basis.

James Outman to Hit a Home Run (+400), FanDuel

James Outman is in the midst of a major slump, hitting only .103 with a .299 OPS since May 18. In that span, he has zero home runs and only four total hits in 46 plate appearances. Tonight could be the ultimate get-right spot for Outman, who gets to face Luke Weaver at Great American Ball Park. Weaver owns a 5.77 FIP and a pedestrian 17.4% strikeout rate against left-handed hitters this year. Eight of Outman’s nine home runs this year have come against right-handed pitching this season. The wind is blowing out, the temperature is over 80 degrees – fire away here. At a minimum, this game should feature three home runs combined, meaning that bettors should see a fair chunk of free bet money coming back to them in this spot.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Masataka Yoshida less than 0.5 hitter strikeouts, PrizePicks

It is always a good day when PrizePicks offers an option for Masataka Yoshida hitter strikeouts. Yoshida, one of the most patient and disciplined hitters in Major League Baseball, gets a favorable matchup tonight against Shane Bieber. Bieber ranks in only the 15th percentile in strikeout rate this season and the 29th percentile in whiff rate. Bieber’s strikeout percentage against left-handed batters is below 20 percent, making this a great spot to target Yoshida and trust him to put the ball in play.
