Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are a great example of how fast an NFL organization can turn things around. They are 4-0 and have given up a league best 41 points so far. Led by Andy Reid, the Chiefs have become fantasy relevant again.

Chiefs Target Leaders Through Week 4

Jamaal Charles33
Donnie Avery26
Dwayne Bowe23
Dexter McCluster17
Sean McGrath12

Fantasy Relevant

Alex Smith – I think Smith is in tough against the Titans defense. They are only allowing 12.7 FPPG to opposing QBs.

Jamaal Charles – I think Charles can still have a big week against this defense. He is loving this short passing game and he has the most receiving fantasy pts among RBs. Tennessee is allowing 19.1 FPPG to RBs.

KC Receivers – Do not use them. They will be facing two of the best corners in the game.

Tennessee Titans

The Titans are 3-1 and have won 2 straight games. Their defense is much improved this year, ranking 9th overall. Jake Locker is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a hip injury, so that means Ryan Fitzpatrick will start. This also means we should downgrade the Titans players a little, but there is not much here fantasy wise anyway.

Titans Target Leaders Through Week 4

Kendall Wright28
Nate Washington28
Delanie Walker18
Kenny Britt15
Damian Williams11
Chris Johnson 5

Fantasy Relevant

In case you missed it above, the Chiefs defense in terms of fantasy points against rank 1st (TE) 2nd (RB) 3rd (QB) 13th (WR). The Titans have the 29th overall ranked offense. I think you are best to stay away.

Cecil Shorts 50

Maurice Jones-Drew7
Justin Blackmon 0 1

1 – Suspended first four games

The Jacksonville Jaguars are pathetic. They have scored 31 total points in 4 games, that is an average of 7.75 per game. They have giving up the 3rd most points at 129. This team may go down as one of the worst of all time. As long as Blaine Gabbert is starting, I don’t see much use in any Jaguars player.

Fantasy Relevant

The Rams are giving up 28.7 FPPG to the RB position. However, Maurice Jones-Drew does not look good and it’s hard to run when you are trailing big every game.

Cecil Shorts – has been targeted the most in the NFL with 50. Blackmon’s return could take some of those away.

St. Louis Rams

The Rams have lost 3 in a row, but that will change with Jacksonville in town. I believe the Rams have played better than their 1-3 record indicates, as they have lost to 3 solid teams. I think they have a lot of players in play this week, including their defense.

Rams Target Leaders Through Week 4

Tavon Austin31
Austin Pettis29
Jared Cook28
Chris Givens24
Daryl Richardson14
Lance Kendricks13
Brian Quick11
Isaiah Pead10

Fantasy Relevant

Sam Bradford – I think Bradford has great value this week. The Jags give up 32.25 PPG and are allowing 22.1 FPPG to QBs. He averages over 45 pass attempts per game.

RBs – Even though Jacksonville is ranked 31st against the run, The Rams have no running game and at this time have not said who is starting. Just avoid the situation.

Rams Receivers – I think they are all in play. They are all cheap and should benefit from a terrible Jags defense. I love Cook as a value TE.

Graham 23.83 27.60 20 12.18 Bennett 12.63 12.70 7 7.53

New Orleans Saints

The Saints are 4-0 and seem to be clicking on all cylinders. They have scored 108 pts and only allowed 55. The tandem of Brees and Graham looks unstoppable at the moment and Sproles out of the backfield is a big time threat. We will see if the Bears and Soldier Field can slow them down.

Saints Target Leaders Through Week 4

Jimmy Graham 41
Marques Colston29
Darren Sproles27
Pierre Thomas20
Kenny Stills13
Lance Moore11

Drew Brees – I tend to avoid Brees on the road as he is much better at home. The Bears are only allowing 17.2 FPPG to QBs.

Darren Sproles – The Bears had some gap issues last week and missed some key tackles against Reggie Bush. Perhaps Sproles can have the same success. Sproles ranks 3rd in RBs with 6.7 yards per touch.

Saints Receiving – Other than Jimmy Graham (458 yards & 6 TDs), I think it would be smart to avoid the Saints on the road. Colston is averaging just over 5 catches and 74.5 YPG, with 1 TD, solid but unspectacular numbers.

Chicago Bears

The Bears are off to a great start and seem to be thriving offensively under new head coach Marc Trestman. The Bears offense is a lot more balanced than it has been in years past, making it more difficult on the opposing defenses. Averaging 31.75 PPG, only the Denver Broncos have scored more points than the Bears 127.

Bears Target Leaders Through Week 4

Brandon Marshall41
Alshon Jeffery31
Martellus Bennett30
Matt Forte26
Earl Bennett9

Jay Cutler – The Saints are only allowing 11.8 FPPG to QBs. Cutler is still too inconsistent to be your starting QB unless he has a favorable match-up.

Matt Forte – has been terrific so far. I love the way Trestman is using him in all situations. The Saints are allowing a league worst 5.5 yards per carry.

Bears Receiving – The Bears have been spreading the ball around and it is not only about Brandon Marshall. That fact alone makes it difficult to see a big game form any of the Bears receivers, especially with the Saints defense playing so well.

Detroit Lions

The Lions are 3-1 and are averaging over 30 points a game. Stafford, Megatron, Bush and Bell are all having great seasons so far. The Lions have a nice match-up this week against the Packers. Green Bay has the 28th ranked defense VS the pass and are allowing over 311 passing yards per game. Las Vegas expects a lot of points in this game and I agree. Look for the Lions to have a big day against a suspect Packers secondary.

Lions Target Leaders Through Week 4

Calvin Johnson39
Nate Burleson23
Joique Bell22
Brandon Pettigrew18
Reggie Bush15

Fantasy Relevant

Matthew Stafford – Green Bay is allowing an average of 23.3 FPPG at the QB position and the 2nd highest QB rating (113.7)

Reggie Bush – has fit into this Lions offense perfectly and is a big reason for their early success. Bush is averaging over 144 total yards per game. Joique Bell has also had a nice season averaging 84 total yards per game in a limited role. I think both are in play this week against Green Bay. The Packers defense is allowing 19.4 FPPG to opposing RBs. However Bush and Bell do just as much, if not more damage receiving, and that is where the Packers (5th worst pass defense) can be exploited big time.

Calvin Johnson – Megatron must feel some relief knowing that he does not have to have carry the team week after week. He was relatively quiet last week with 4 catches for 44 yards and the Lions still put up 40 points. Johnson is in a great situation this week against this Packers defense. In his last 3 meetings against them he has averaged over 168 receiving yards.

Green Bay Packers

The Packers are fresh off a week 4 bye and could really use a win against Detroit. The Packers are averaging 32 PPG, but can’t seem to stop anyone on defense. If you like high scoring games, this one should be fun to watch.

Packers Target Leaders Through Week 4

Randall Cobb26
Jordy Nelson24
James Jones 20
Jermichael Finley16

Fantasy Relevant

Aaron Rodgers – The Lions defense is only allowing 14.1 FPPG against the QB position. However they have faced some weak opponents in Ponder, Palmer, RG III and Cutler. The Lions are giving up over 25 PPG. Rodgers is averaging over 350 YPG and has 8 TDs.

Eddie Lacy – Lacy is back from his concussion. He could be a great value pick this week as Detroit is allowing 25.8 FPPG to running backs. James Starks is inactive.

Packers receiving – Detroit could be without its top two CBs this week, and I think all Packers WRs are in play. The Lions are allowing 30.1 FPPG at the WR position. A concussion could keep Finley out again this week.
