America’s pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.

Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ “SIS Model 3”.

SIS Model 3 gives DFS players an edge when setting their lineups as it uses the most expansive and accurate wealth of baseball data to create a tested DFS algorithm. You can learn more about the development of the algorithm in the RotoGrinders Marketplace.

Pitching Option

David Price, Boston Red Sox (FD Price $10,100)

We saw the “old” Price last time out against Baltimore (6.0 IP, 5H, 0R, 10K). He’s dominated the Rays in three of four starts this season and the Tampa offense has gone south the past two week (.292 wOBA).

Hitting Options

C/1B) Lucas Duda, Kansas City Royals (FD Price $3,000)

This pick is about opposing starter Dylan Covey, who allows LHB a .357 wOBA. Duda owns a respectable .335 wOBA against RHP.

2B) Whit Merrifield, Kansas City Royals (FD Price $3,400)

Merrifield is putting together a very good season (.303 BA/.347 wOBA) and he’s having an even better August (.344 BA/.377 wOBA). At this price we can’t resist.

3B) Justin Turner, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD Price $3,700)

Turner’s hot bat. .495 wOBA in August, gets the nod here. Opposing starter Erasmo Ramirez is making just his second start since April.

SS) Brandon Crawford, San Francisco Giants (FD Price $2,800)

Crawford still owns a .321 wOBA against RHP, but the key to this selection is opposing starter Matt Harvey, who has regressed since the All-Star break, allowing a .420 wOBA.

OF) Alex Gordon, Kansas City Royals (FD Price $2,600)

The veteran’s overall numbers aren’t pretty because he can’t hit lefties (.186 BA), but he can still hit RHP, particularly on the road (.307 BA/.372 wOBA).

OF) A.J. Pollock, Arizona Diamondbacks (FD Price $3,900)

Pollock owns a .362 wOBA against LHP and goes up against lefty Clayton Richard, who allows RHB a .336 wOBA.

OF) Rosell Herrera, Kansas City Royals (FD Price $2,200)

The 25-year-old switch-hitter is another left-handed bat to go against Covey, who allows a .357 wOBA to LHB.

UTIL) Brandon Belt, San Francisco Giants (FD Price $3,100)

Belt has produced a .390 wOBA against RHP and faces Harvey, who for the season allows LHB a .362 wOBA and has struggled since the break allowing a .420 wOBA.

Stacking Option

When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.

Kansas City Royals A rare Royals stack with Duda, Merrifield, Gordon and youngster Herrera should work.
