America’s Pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.

Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ SIS Model 3. SIS Model 3 gives DFS players an edge when setting their lineups as it uses the most expansive and accurate wealth of baseball data to create a tested DFS algorithm.

You can learn more about the development of the algorithm at this link and visit the RotoGrinders Marketplace to subscribe.

Pitching Option

Alex Wood, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD Price $7500)

Wood doesn’t have a very good record this season (1-5), but records can be deceiving. His xFIP (3.29) is actually better than last season when he went 16-3 with a 3.34 xFIP. His walks rate is lower, but his BABIP is up. The Dodgers gave him an extra day’s rest and that should help.

Hitting Options

C/1B) Paul Goldschmidt, Arizona (FD Price $4600)

The Diamondbacks first baseman continued to rake last night, bashing his seventh home run in 14 June games. He’s batting .456 with a .607 wOBA over that span.

2B) Asdrubal Cabrera, New York Mets (FD Price $2800)

The Mets offense has struggled to score runs (3.72 RPG), but don’t blame Cabrera. He’s done more than his share with 11 HR, 36 RBI and a .332 wOBA. He owns a .358 wOBA on the road against LHP and faces Patrick Corbin in Chase Field Saturday night.

3B) Kyle Seager, Seattle (FD Price $3300)

Seager should once against hit 25 or more home runs this season, racking up 12 through the first 69 games. This will be the first time he’s seen a knuckleball this season, but he’s has some success against it the past few years.

SS) Ketel Marte, Arizona (FD Price $3500)

Marte has been hitting LHP all season (.378 wOBA) and he’s hit everything in June (.521 wOBA). He’ll face lefty Steven Matz Saturday.

OF) Mitch Haniger, Seattle (FD Price $3900)

Haniger has already matched last season’s home run total in 27 less games and he’s posted a .386 wOBA in June. He had no problem when facing a knuckleball last season (1.2 wKN).

OF) Nelson Cruz, Seattle (FD Price $4000)

The Mariners slugger is doing his usual job with 16 HR and 38 RBI. He’s produced a .428 wOBA in June.

OF) Jason Heyward, Chicago Cubs (FD Price $2800)

Heyward has played much better of late and after a couple of days off should be well rested. He’s posted a .344 wOBA against RHP.

UTIL) John Ryan Murphy (FD Price $2600)

The Diamondbacks catcher owns a .403 wOBA against LHP and should continue to produce against Matz. His numbers are even stronger against LHP at Chase Field (.477 wOBA).

Stacking Option

When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.

Arizona Diamondbacks – Stay with the hot bats.

The Diamondbacks are 11-3 this month behind an offense that has manufactured a major-league leading 99 runs. They own a .375 wOBA over the last 14 games. Along with Goldschmidt, Marte and John Ryan Murphy you could take a shot with leadoff hitter Jon Jay.
