Sports Info Solutions: MLB DFS Advice for Tuesday, June 19th

SIS

America’s pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.

Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ SIS Model 3. SIS Model 3 gives DFS players an edge when setting their lineups as it uses the most expansive and accurate wealth of baseball data to create a tested DFS algorithm.

You can learn more about the development of the algorithm at this link and visit the RotoGrinders Marketplace to subscribe.

Pitching Option

Luke Weaver, St. Louis (FD Price $6,500)

If you want to be able to start players like Mike Trout and Justin Upton, which we do, it means you can’t go for the high-priced starters like Justin Verlander or Chris Sale. We’ve chosen Weaver, who pitched well against the Phillies in May (7.0 IP, 4H, 1ER, 1BB, 6K). Philadelphia’s lineup still has trouble putting the bat on the ball (25.6 K %).

Hitting Options

C/1B) Albert Pujols, LA Angels (FD Price $3,100)

In case you haven’t noticed, the future Hall of Famer has been pretty good in June with five home runs and a .331 wOBA. He can still hit a fastball (6.6 wFB) and that’s been Matt Koch least effective pitch (-8.5 wFB).

2B) Ian Kinsler, LA Angels (FD Price $3,300)

Kinsler has found his batting stroke in June (.354 wOBA) and he’s done most of the damage against RHP this season (.326 wOBA vs. RHP/.204 wOBA vs LHP). He’ll be facing Koch who can’t get righties out (.310 BA, .403 wOBA).

3B) Chad Pinder, Oakland (FD Price $2,200)

Pinder has been much more productive against LHP this season (.385 wOBA) than RHP (.281 wOBA) and faces lefty Eric Lauer. At this price he’s too much of a bargain to pass up.

SS) Andrelton Simmons, LA Angels (FD Price $3,200)

We aren’t done stacking right-hand hitting Angels in our lineup. Simmons is back from his DL stint and he owns a .360 wOBA this season.

OF) Justin Upton, LA Angels (FD Price $3,700)

More piling on Koch. Batting behind Trout allows for plenty of RBI opportunities and Upton has cashed in with 16 HR and 43 RBI. He’s posted a .359 wOBA against RHP and .445 wOBA against everyone in the month of June.

OF) Mike Trout, LA Angels (FD Price $5,400)

Koch can’t get out RHB, did you think we wouldn’t find a way to get Trout in the lineup? He’s blasted 23 HR with a stunning .472 wOBA this season and he’s been even hotter in June (.527 wOBA).

OF) Shin-Soo Choo, Texas (FD Price $3,600)

Choo has quietly racked up 13 home runs and a .379 wOBA this season. That includes a .403 wOBA against RHP and he faces Jason Hammel Tuesday night. Hammel’s least effective pitch has been his fastball (-5.1 wFB) and Choo has killed the straight stuff (15.4 wOBA).

UTIL) Jed Lowrie, Oakland (FD Price $3,200)

Lowrie continues to produce solid numbers (.284 BA, 9 HR, 43 RBI, .347 wOBA) and

Stacking Option

When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.
