Sports Info Solutions: MLB DFS Advice for Wednesday, August 8th

America’s pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.
Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ “SIS Model 3”.
SIS Model 3 gives DFS players an edge when setting their lineups as it uses the most expansive and accurate wealth of baseball data to create a tested DFS algorithm. You can learn more about the development of the algorithm in the RotoGrinders Marketplace.
Pitching Option

Trevor Richards, Miami Marlins (FD Price $7400)
The Marlins rookie right-hander is a solid option in Miami where he has held opposing batters to a .284 wOBA. Richards hasn’t allowed more than one run in his last four starts and has 15 consecutive shutout innings at home. Just avoid making a mistake to Matt Carpenter.
Hitting Options
C/1B) Jake Bauers, Tampa Bay Rays (FD Price $3,700)
Bauers has shown plenty of pop since his call up (.366 wOBA) while opposing starter Andrew Cashner has been horrible on the road yielding a .403 wOBA which includes a .397 wOBA to LHB.
2B) Whit Merrifield, Kansas City Royals (FD Price $3,500)
Merrifield is a great option against LHP. He owns a .368 BA this season and a .415 wOBA against lefties which jumps to .400/.416 at Kauffman Stadium.
3B) Justin Turner, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD Price $2,600)
Turner hasn’t produced as expected this season, but in August he’s certainly picked up the pace, batting .308 with a .461 wOBA.
SS) Francisco Lindor, Cleveland Indians (FD Price $4,700)
It’s time to spend our savings by installing Lindor into the lineup. The Indians’ shortstop owns a .396 wOBA this season with 28 HR which rises to a .401 wOBA at Progressive Field against RHP.
OF) Aaron Hicks, New York Yankees (FD Price $3,800)
The switch-hitting Yankees outfielder has already set a career home run mark this season (18) and against RHP owns a .388 wOBA. Opposing starter Lucas Giolito has allowed a .376 wOBA to LHB.
OF) Michael Brantley, Cleveland Indians (FD Price $3,700)
Brantley has become an option only at home against RHP where he has produced a stunning .438 wOBA. Fortunately, today is one of those days as he faces right-hander Jake Odorizzi.
OF) Joc Pederson, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD Price $2,800)
Pederson is only useful in DFS against RHP (all 17 of his home runs against RHP) which is the situation today. He’s a .333 hitter with a .459 wOBA on the road against right-handers.
UTIL) Yasmani Grandal, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD Price $2,800)
Grandal has been hot since the All-Star break producing a .430 wOBA. He owns a .382 wOBA against RHP this season.
Stacking Option
When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.
Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers can hit the long ball (NL leading 155) and own a .334 wOBA against RHP. We already have Turner, Pederson and Grandal in the lineup. Add a suddenly hot Cody Bellinger (.455 wOBA in August) for a solid stack.
