The Field Report: Week 13
The Field Report is designed to give you a look into the most popular plays from FanDuel’s Thursday Night action. In order to truly separate your entry from the rest of the field, you need to create a unique roster. In GPP’s especially, playing along with the rest of your opponents won’t get you very far. The rules are much different in H2H’s and 50/50’s, but in tournaments where you need to beat ALL of your opponents (e.g. major qualifiers), you need to take risks and use a player or two that you know will be lightly owned. The percentages in the tables below come from a $2 250-man tournament (top 10.8% paid). Since this data comes from Thursday contests, the ownership percentages for the players listed below will be a bit higher on average for Sunday contests.

With three games taking place on Thanksgiving, more Thursday players were used this week than normal, so the percentages below will be higher then usual on Sunday. Only three QB’s came in at over 5% owned in this tournament, because the Thursday QB’s were pretty popular picks. Matt Flynn (oh boy) was 10.8% owned, while Matthew Stafford (10%) and Tony Romo (9.6%) also were owned by about a tenth of the field. Calvin Johnson (30%), Dez Bryant (16.4%), Rashad Jennings (14%), Nate Burleson (12%), Reggie Bush (11.2%), and DeMarco Murray (8.8%) were also relatively popular plays.
One thing to keep in mind when using this information as a research tool is that this article is Fanduel specific. The popular plays this week on sites with sharp pricing (Draftstreet) will be much different, so these ownership percentages are by no means industry wide.
Note: All players are listed by percentage owned inside the tables. Any player owned by more than 5% of the field will be included.
