Finding Paydirt: Week 8 NFL Touchdown Picks — Win 2 Months of RG Premium & More Prizes!
Touchdowns, while extremely variant, make or break daily fantasy success and swing thousands of dollars every Sunday. Every weekend, players wait anxiously for the players on their roster to find paydirt. The purpose of the contest is to provide an opportunity for the RotoGrinders community to come together to sweat our touchdown picks together. Did I mention there will be prizes?
Happy Friday, Grinders! With Week 7 done and dusted, we have one week left in our second touchdown segment of the NFL season. As we approach the halfway mark of the season, certain players have emerged as weekly threats to hit paydirt. We will start with the leaderboard and then make some Week 8 Anytime Touchdown picks.

Finding Paydirt Rules and Prizes
Very simple. Each week, I will publish Finding Paydirt on Friday morning — highlighting my favorite touchdown pick for the running back, wide receiver, and tight end position. To participate in the contest, you simply need to read the article and leave your three picks in the comments section. So, easy, right? You will take Jonathan Taylor, Davante Adams, and Travis Kelce! Easy!
Not so fast, friends! There is a catch. Each week, we will run the contest for Sunday’s DraftKings Main Slate (1:00 PM and 4:00 PM games). However, to make things a bit more interesting, I will be cutting the top five priced running backs and wide receivers as well as the top three priced tight ends. Everyone else on the slate is in play.
Each week I will post an updated leaderboard with the total touchdowns accumulated that week and for the season.
So, simply put, read the article, check the cut list, make your three picks in the comments, win prizes! What are the prizes? Read below.
The following prizes will be awarded to players based on their touchdown total for each four-week segment:
First Place – 2 months of RotoGrinders NFL Premium
Second Place – RotoGrinders T-shirt and hat
Third Place – 2 weeks of SAO Premium
The following prizes will be awarded to players based on their touchdown total for the first 16 weeks of the NFL season:
First Place – One month of RotoGrinders Combo Premium
Second Place – RotoGrinders Swag Pack
Third Place – One month of SAO Premium
Now, let’s get into this week’s cut list.
The Week 8 Cut List
Your selections must be on the DraftKings Main Slate and cannot be any of the players below. These players are the top five at both RB and WR and the top three at TE.
Running Back | Wide Receiver | Tight End |
Christian McCaffrey | Cooper Kupp | George Kittle |
Derrick Henry | Justin Jefferson | Darren Waller |
Saquon Barkley | Davante Adams | Zach Ertz |
Jonathan Taylor | Tyreek Hill | |
Dalvin Cook | A.J. Brown |
Now that we have made our cuts, let’s make some anytime touchdown picks.
NFL Week 8 Touchdown Picks
Kenneth Walker – RB – $6,500
Kenneth Walker is now the feature back — and likely feature player — for the Seattle Seahawks. Many pundits had the Seahawks dead and buried before the season started. Yet, Geno Smith continues to impress as a replacement for Mr. Very Limited as the Seahawks continue to compete each week.
Against the Giants, I anticipate the Seahawks will continue to pound the work to put Geno in favorable passing situations. With DK Metcalf likely out with his knee injury, we should expect the Seahawks to run as much as possible.
There are some very interesting running back situations on this week’s NFL slate but I feel very confident that Walker finds the endzone against the Giants’ defense.
Walker III is priced at -135 to score a touchdown on Caesars Sportsbook
DeAndre Hopkins – WR – $7,400
DeAndre Hopkins returned this past Thursday night and boy was he fed against the Saints. While the Saints played without Marshon Lattimore, Hopkins seemed to be the key to the Cardinals’ offense.
Hopkins was targeted 14 times against New Orleans — catching 10 passes for 100+ yards. He did not find the endzone but will very much be the top target for Kyler Murray this week as the Cardinals remain without Marquise Brown. We roll with Hopkins in what is now an interesting matchup on the road versus the Vikings in a dome.
At the time of this writing, there are no lines for anytime touchdown scorers.
Mike Gesicki – TE – $3,800
Lastly, we return to the wasteland. No Travis Kelce. No Mark Andrews. We don’t even have a Dawson Knox or Robert Tonyan. Gross.
I am just going to chase a matchup this week. The Lions’ defense is horrendous. Miami will look to make a ton of big plays against the swiss cheese Detroit defense in a dome. Gesicki sees plenty of competition for targets but leads the Dolphins with six red zone targets. This’ll do.
Caesars Sportsbook offers a +285 price tag for Gesicki to find the endzone.
Thanks for checking out this week’s article. Leave your touchdown picks in the comments for a chance at winning monthly and seasonal prizes.
