Richaun Holmes (back) questionable on Thursday. Holmes missed last night and continues to fall out of favor, so we’re planning to leave him out of initial projections as Domantas Sabonis continues to roll as the starting center and Damian Jones behind him.

Heat recall Javonte Smart from the G League on Thursday. This could be nothing but with all of Jimmy Butler, Max Strus, Caleb Martin and PJ Tucker questionable (and with Kyle Lowry already ruled out), it’s possible the Heat will be down some bodies tonight and want reinforcements. Stay tuned.

There’s a lot of moving parts here but we expected Lowry to be out. If one or more of Butler/Tucker/Strus/Martin are out, that would make guys like Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo and Gabe Vincent even better plays. This game is 30 minutes after lock so hopefully we have some clarify before lock on what the Heat do with their injury situation.

Update: Fred VanVleet (knee) remains questionable on Thursday. Radio host Michael Grange corrected his earlier tweet that VanVleet was available, so for now he remains questionable.

Fred VanVleet (knee) expected to play on Thursday. This should push Malachi Flynn out of the starting lineup, and VanVleet’s return does take the shine off Scottie Barnes and Gary Trent Jr. a bit now.

Without Anunoby, Scottie Barnes should see a larger role on offense, and this should keep Khem Birch in the starting lineup. We’ll need to monitor the statuses of VanVleet and Young. VanVleet’s absence would let Malachi Flynn continue to start, while Young’s absence would give Chris Boucher and Precious Achiuwa a boost.

Frank Jackson (spine) questionable on Thursday. This isn’t too impactful but Jackson continues to deal with his injury and has been hit or miss in terms of playing through it. If he can’t go, Hamidou Diallo and Killian Hayes might soak up his minutes.

The Collins news isn’t surprising as he entered the day doubtful and Danilo Gallinari has been starting in his place. The Young news is more concerning as the team called up Sharife Cooper this morning from he G League. If Young can’t go, Delon Wright is a candidate to spot start while Kevin Huerter and Bogdan Bogdanovic would also be tasked with more ball-handling duties.
