Gorgui Dieng (illness) available on Friday. There’s no DFS impact here with Clint Capela also back.

Clint Capela

Houston Rockets
1/21/22, 6:51 PM ET

Clint Capela (ankle) available and on a minutes restriction on Friday.

Clint Capela (ankle) available and on a minutes restriction on Friday. His return will hurt Onyeka Okonwgu, who could head back to the bench. This might make both difficult to trust in DFS, as Gorgui Dieng is also now available.

Derrick Favors

Atlanta Hawks
1/21/22, 6:47 PM ET

Derrick Favors (back) available on Friday.

Derrick Favors (back) is available on Friday. The Thunder play in Cleveland tomorrow so there’s a chance Favors is available but not used (or used sparingly) so he can play tomorrow in a matchup he may be more suited for. He’s not on the DFS radar tonight.

Marcus Morris

New York Knicks
1/21/22, 6:46 PM ET

Marcus Morris (personal) will play on Friday.

Marcus Morris (personal) will play on Friday. Morris should slide back into the starting lineup and has some GPP appeal with the Clippers still missing Paul George.

As reported by: Andrew Greif

Nicolas Batum

LA Clippers
1/21/22, 6:39 PM ET

Nicolas Batum (health protocols) available Friday.

Nicolas Batum (health protocols) is available Friday. His return will help bolster an offense missing Paul George. It’s unclear yet whether Batum will rejoin the starting lineup but that’s the most likely scenario, pushing Terance Mann back to his bench role.

Marcus Smart

Houston Rockets
1/21/22, 6:34 PM ET

Marcus Smart (conditioning) and Aaron Nesmith (ankle) out Friday.

Marcus Smart (conditioning) and Aaron Nesmith (ankle) out Friday. This should elevate Dennis Schroder to another spot start while Josh Richardson will be tasked with a larger role in the second unit. Schroder will continue to have some GPP appeal despite his elevated price tag.

Wendell Carter Jr.

Orlando Magic
1/21/22, 6:23 PM ET

Magic will start Anthony, Suggs, Harris, Franz Wagner and Bamba; Wendell carter Jr. (hamstring) available off the bench but will be on a minutes restriction.

Magic will start Anthony, Suggs, Harris, Franz Wagner and Bamba; Wendell carter Jr. (hamstring) available off the bench but will be on a minutes restriction. It’s unknown at the moment what that restriction will be but given the time he’s missed, it’s hard to justify Carter Jr. as a DFS option on this slate. His return will hurt Wagner and Bamba to some degree, depending on how much he plays. It’s possible Carter Jr. hurts Chuma Okeke more in the second unit if they decide to limit his playing time and ramp him up slowly.

PJ Washington

Dallas Mavericks
1/21/22, 6:21 PM ET

PJ Washington (hip) available on Friday.

PJ Washington (hip) is available on Friday. This is as expected and Washington should play his usual backup center minutes behind Mason Plumlee.

Stephen Curry

Golden State Warriors
1/21/22, 5:41 PM ET

Stephen Curry will play Friday.

Stephen Curry will play Friday, per beat writer Anthony Slater. There’s no surprise here but there was some risk as Curry played 44 minutes in an overtime loss last night. It’s worth noting that Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala are all out for this game, while Andrew Wiggins has been downgraded to questionable this afternoon. It wouldn’t shock me if Curry had his minutes monitored tonight, but he still makes for an elite GPP option given the matchup against the Rockets.

As reported by: Anthony Slater

Andrew Wiggins

Miami Heat
1/21/22, 5:35 PM ET

Andrew Wiggins (foot) questionable on Friday.

Andrew Wiggins (foot) is now questionable on Friday. The Warriors are already without Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala, so Wiggins’ absence on this backend of a back-to-back would be a huge blow for this offense. This season when all four have been off the court, Stephen Curry has averaged 1.47 fantasy points per minute while Jordan Poole has averaged 1.26 fantasy points per minute.

Rudy Gobert

Minnesota Timberwolves
1/21/22, 2:59 PM ET

Rudy Gobert (ankle) questionable on Friday.

Rudy Gobert (ankle) is now questionable on Friday. With Hassan Whiteside already out, the Jazz may be forced to lean on Udoka Azubuike more in a spot start with Eric Paschall playing more backup minutes. The Jazz could also be forced to go smaller out of necessity. Down Donovan Mitchell already, Gobert being out too would open up even more usage for Jordan Clarkson, who leads the team in usage with a 31% usage rate when Mitchell is out.

DeMarcus Cousins

Denver Nuggets
1/21/22, 2:55 PM ET

DeMarcus Cousins eligible to play and expected to be available on Friday.

DeMarcus Cousins is eligible to play and expected to be available on Friday for the Nuggets. He’s unlikely to see major minutes but his signing should provide some relief for Nikola Jokic.

As reported by: Harrison Wind

Killian Tillie

Memphis Grizzlies
1/21/22, 2:36 PM ET

Killian Tillie (health protocols) upgraded to questionable on Friday.

Killian Tillie (health protocols) has been upgraded to questionable on Friday. His return would cut into the playing time of Santi Aldama, who has been covering for Tillie in the rotation while Tillie has been out due to health protocols.

As reported by: Grizzlies PR

Nic Claxton

Chicago Bulls
1/21/22, 1:39 PM ET

Nic Claxton (hamstring) likely out on Friday; DeAndre' Bembry a game-time decision.

Nic Claxton (hamstring) is trending towards likely being out on Friday while DeAndre’ Bembry remains a game-time decision. With Claxton out, the Nets likely turn to Day’Ron Sharpe again for a spot start, with LaMarcus Aldridge backing him up in a revenge narative. Both Claxton and Aldridge would hold some GPP appeal. Bembry’s status would impact more of the fringe secondary players like Bruce Brown and Kessler Edwards. Edwards played 35 minutes last game but with Kyrie Irving and James Harden around him, his usage remains fairly low.

As reported by: Brian Lewis Other tagged players: DeAndre Bembry

Bryn Forbes

Minnesota Timberwolves
1/21/22, 11:33 AM ET

Bryn Forbes expected to be available for Nuggets debut on Friday.

Bryn Forbes is expected to be available for his Nuggets debut on Friday. Forbes’ addition to the Nuggets second unit could hurt the minutes of Facundo Campazzo, Bones Hyland and Austin Rivers as this backcourt is suddenly more crowded. It shouldn’t have too much of a DFS impact on a larger slate like tonight’s.
