Lineup Update: Mavs will start Doncic, Hardaway Jr., Finney-Smith, Porzingis, Marjanovic on Sunday

Luka Doncic and Maxi Kleber will both be available Sunday

As expected, Luka Doncic and Maxi Kleber will be available Sunday when the Mavericks take on the Clippers in Game 7 to decide who advances to take on the Utah Jazz on Tuesday. Doncic has been absolutely incredible this series and will continue to be an elite spend option for the Sunday slate. Kleber has seen his minutes diminish to around 20 the last two games as the Mavericks have elected to go with more traditional centers (like Marjanovic, Powell, and Cauley-Stein) shifting Kristaps to the four and sending Kleber to the bench. This will likely continue in Game 7 making Kleber difficult to roster. The Mavericks offense will continue to be run through Luka with the rest of the starters providing support.

Solomon Hill will draw the start for the injured De’Andre Hunter Sunday. Hill should see an increased role and we are expecting him to play somewhere near 20 minutes along with Gallinari and Huerter playing a bit more off the bench.

De'Andre Hunter (knee) ruled out Sunday

De’Andre Hunter will not be available Sunday in the series opener against the Philadelphia 76ers. Hunter has been dealing with knee soreness and will have to miss today’s game after being able to play and start the whole series against the Knicks. This will likely lead to Solomon Hill drawing the start and playing a significantly bigger role as well as there being more wing minutes for Danilo Gallinari and Kevin Huerter making them all much better plays.

Joel Embiid (knee) will be available and start Sunday

Joel Embiid will be available Sunday when the 76ers play their series opener against the Atlanta Hawks. Philadelphia was able to put away the Wizards without Embiid giving him a few more days to get healthy for their next round, while we haven’t heard of any sort of limitations for Embiid yet it is possible that Coach Rivers won’t give him his usual heavy run. If Embiid is limited, we will likely see a little more Dwight Howard and Matisse Thybulle and possibly even some Mike Scott depending on what type of lineup Coach Rivers wants to run with. If Embiid were to be limited Tobias Harris and Ben Simmons would become better plays due to their increased usage with Embiid off the court (4.2% and 3.6% respectively).

De’Andre Hunter is a game-time decision Sunday for the series opener against the Philadelphia 76ers. Hunter has been dealing with knee soreness and it is unclear if he will be available today after playing and starting the entire series with the Knicks. If Hunter were to be ruled out it would likely lead to more wing minutes for Danilo Gallinari and Kevin Huerter making them both much better plays.

Status Update: Joel Embiid (knee) a game-time decision Sunday

Joel Embiid will be a game time decision Sunday in the series opener against the Atlanta Hawks. If Embiid were to be ruled out Coach Rivers could elect to go small as he did in the close out game against Washington and have Matisse Thybulle enter the starting lineup or he could go with a more traditional lineup and start either Dwight Howard or Mike Scott for Embiid. Either way Tobias Harris sees the biggest boost from a usage and FPM perspective (4.2%, .12 FPM) along with Ben Simmons (3.6%, .05 FPM) who become much better plays without Embiid.

Lineup update: Bucks will start Holiday, Middleton, Tucker, Giannis, and Lopez Saturday

According to a beat reporter, the Bucks will change up their starting lineup with PJ Tucker in place of Pat Connaughton against the Brooklyn Nets. With Kevin Durant in the lineup for the Nets, Tucker will be needed to match up with him, as they look to. Tucker produces awfully per minute, but should have elevated upside. Pat Connaughton will lose minutes as a result.

Luka Doncic (neck) and Maxi Kleber (Achilles) available to play Friday

As expected, Luka and Kleber were both upgraded from probable to available against the LA Clippers. Luka has been putting up elite numbers and should continue to do the same, while Kleber has lost some playing time since coming off the bench. He played 19 minutes last game, and with the Mavs trying to play a traditional center more often (Boban, Powell, and Cauley-Stein played a combined 46 mintues last game), Kleber will find it tough to see major minutes behind Porzingis.
